It’s been 10 years since we began an international odyssey to establish Great Yarmouth as a mecca for the circus and street arts world and to bring audiences from across the country to enjoy all that this little corner of our coastline has to offer. The enthusiasm does not dim after a decade and this year we see another line-up of incredible acts. We welcome UK premieres from, amongst others, Barcelona’s Vavel Circus (p23) and ’s Compagnie 2.1 (p9). Our membership of the Without Walls Consortium has helped develop two new shows by Yarmouth based artists, Dizzy O’Dare (p10) and Matthew Harrison (p17). We’ve been leading Coasters, a three year Arts Council funded national project to reimagine how audiences see coastal towns. The project brings us several shows including an exciting collaborative piece that forms our Saturday night headline show – Sense of Unity (p22). Around 100 artists from at least ten nations join us this year. We’ve a live music stage, a new family zone, and a programme of shows and workshops at our home, The Drill House. Our thanks, as always go to those who’ve helped fund the festival, particularly Arts Council England, Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Greater Yarmouth Tourism & Business Improvement District. Here’s to another 10 years! Joe Mackintosh, Artistic Director
