THE NEED Detroit Edison Energy Company • Wetland delineation (DTE) needed wetland information to aid in land use planning of undeveloped land at • GIS and topographic survey their Fermi II Nuclear Power Plant Site • Wetland functions and values assessment THE SOLUTION Ducks Unlimited provided wetland delineation and functions and values assessment on 1,106 acres to develop a wetlands investigation report outlining type, size, location, functions and values for over 500 acres of wetland habitat. Ducks Unlimited, Inc. was established in 1937 by forward-minded conservationists to address the threats of habitat loss and decreasing waterfowl populations. Working closely with a broad spectrum of partners at a landscape level, DU continually refines and modifies techniques to restore wildlife habitat, improve water quality, mitigate for wetland loss and replace a variety of other ecological functions.
