MMRDA Fabrication Yard at Wadala(W) , Mumbai CASE HISTORY Rev: 00, Issue Date 21.05.09 MMRDA FABRICATION YARD AT WADALA MUMBAI,INDIA Transportation/Monorail Product:Mactex WR 10 Problem: Considering the increase in population, increased travel demand and narrow road networks running through congested areas, there is a need of a system which will occupy less space as well as reduce travel time. MMRDA has proposed to construct the 20-km elevated monorail, the first such project in India which would start at Jacob Circle in south Mumbai and termi- nate at Chembur via Wadala. The Rs. 2,460-crore project, awarded to Larsen and Toubro and Malaysia-based Scoomi Engineering, is to be completed in 30 months. As part of the monorail project a casting yard is proposed to be constructed near Wadala (W). The casting yard is expected to carry a total load of 20T Photo 1.Site Before Construction coming from the gantry. The casting yard will be constructed in stages and the first phase of casting yard has an area of 64m X 15m. The existing soil on site was very loose, which is unable to carry the load due to Gantry. Solution: It is proposed to replace the existing soil with good frictional soil along with some reinforcement to enhance its load carrying capacity. Hence approximately 800mm soil is dug out and replaced with frictional soil. A soil is placed in three different layers Ist Layer – 300mm,IInd Layer – 250mm and IIIrd Layer – 250mm. ST A layer of Woven Geotextile is placed after I layer of frictional soil and above that other layers of frictional fill area supposed to be placed with proper compac- tion. Photo 2. • Bus Pass Scheme in Detail the Undertaking Has Introduced RF-ID Based Bus Passes for Its Esteemed Commuters
Bus Pass Scheme in detail The Undertaking has introduced RF-ID based Bus Passes for its esteemed commuters. The Bus Pass will be issued at the authorized Point of Sale (PoS) of the Undertaking. The details of the scheme are as under. The following rates will come in force from 16/09/2015: i) Distance-wise bus pass values (on Km basis) Distance Fare (`) Within Mumbai Municipal Slab(Kms) Limits (`) Monthly Quarterly 2 8.00 390 1160 4 10.00 480 1440 6 14.00 680 2020 10 18.00 870 2600 14 22.00 1060 3170 20 26.00 1250 3750 Distance is computed on following principles: If direct route exists between the origin and destination, then distance between these stops is considered for calculating the bus pass value. If more than one direct route exists between the origin and destination, minimum distance between these stops is considered for calculating the bus pass value. If direct route is not available between the origin and destination, then distance is calculated of the routes with one change-over point. In case of multiple routes with one change-over point, minimum distance with change-over is considered for calculating the bus pass value. In the event of non-availability of connection between origin and destination even with one change-over, distance based bus pass cannot be given. Under such circumstances, passengers are advised to opt for fixed amount pass. As the bus operation is being changed as per the demand, distance between origin and destinations may not be constant. Under such circumstances bus pass values shall also increase or decrease.
