COVID-19 Safety Plan Love Bomb Executive Summary: COVID-19 Safety Plan for shameless hussy productions Love Bomb Video The safety and well-being of members of shameless hussy productions (shp), including our actors, crew, staff and volunteers, is of utmost importance. With this in mind, we have developed a COVID-19 safety plan to support rehearsals and filming associated with the creation of the training video of Love Bomb for the RCMP. This safety plan is informed by guidance from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), the BC Restart Plan, WorkSafe BC and with advisory consultation from the Actsafe Safety Association. shp will remain responsive to any new public health guidance issued by B.C.’s Chief Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry; we will expand upon activities permitted and/or restrict them, as required. In accordance with Phase 3 of the BC Restart Plan, our shp WorkSafe BC COVID-19 Safety Plan will be available for viewing on-site during rehearsals and shooting of the video. As well, each cast and crew member will be emailed the plans no later than 4 weeks prior to filming and 3 weeks before rehearsal. Overall context The following plan has been created with this in mind: • We are trusting that everyone associated with shp is committed to following current B.C. public health guidelines. shp cannot “police” our actors and crew; rather we will follow the lead of B.C.’s Chief Provincial Health Officer and trust that everyone affiliated with shp is committed to taking all reasonable steps to uphold the greater good of health and well-being for all. • We live in a time and place where there is an inherent, albeit low, level of risk of contracting COVID-19 in virtually everything we do. With this in mind, the shp COVID-19 Safety Plan allows for some low level risk and works to address what is probable, as opposed to exceptional or rare. Pre-rehearsal & film shoot - travel • shp in-person rehearsals are expected to begin on September 21, 2020. Prior to this date, we understand our actors and crew may be travelling and engaging in other summer vacation plans. We ask you to accommodate the following advice to help minimize risk to shp actors, crew, staff and volunteers: o If you are travelling or engaging in other vacation plans within the province of B.C., please adhere to all aspects B.C. public health guidance. o If you are travelling outside of B.C., please aim to return home 14 days prior to the first in-person rehearsal (September 7, 2020) and follow B.C. public health guidance to actively self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms that include but are not limited to: 1 o Fever, chills, dry cough, runny nose, o Aches & pains, sore throat, headache o Difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell o nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue If you are crew involved in the film shoot only, please aim to return home 14 days prior to the first day of shooting (September 14, 2020) and follow B.C. public health guidance to actively self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. ! We acknowledge that there has been some variation with respect to out-of-province travel advice, but our guidance is informed by shp own risk-tolerance and the activities we will undertake during rehearsals and the film shoot. If you are travelling outside of Canada, you will be required to return home 14 days prior to first in-person rehearsal (September 7, 2020) and follow B.C.’s public health guidance for self-isolation. SHP’s stage manager, Stephen Bulat, will have cast and crew fill out and sign the ENTRANCE SCREENING CRITERIA form we have created, with the help of the provincial health authority, each day of rehearsal and shoot. This form will contain (but is not limited to) questions such as: 1. Had any of these symptoms: fever, cough, or shortness of breath? yes no 2. Been outside of Canada? yes no 3. Been in contact with someone who had or may have had COVID-19? yes no 4. Been in contact with someone who has been sick? yes no The stage manager and director will be the only members who can view these completed forms which will be kept in the stage managers binder till the end of the shoot. Rehearsal Space and Venue • shp has been commissioned by the RCMP to provide a video of the play, Love Bomb for internal police use only. (What we are working on September 21-30) • Rehearsals will take place at Carousel Theatre’s rehearsal hall – Studio A, September 21-25, 2020. Only shp will use this venue during this time. Cleaning, sanitization and disinfection of the venue will happen by the stage manager before and after each rehearsal. A log book with specific duties necessary for the disinfection of the room and rehearsal will be filled out by the stage manager upon completing the tasks. • The film shoot of Love Bomb will occur at the Arts Club Lounge on Granville Island September 28-30, 2020. Only the cast and crew will be permitted on the premises during the shoot. The stage manager will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing this space as well. The total number of cast and crew at either rehearsal space or location will not exceed 9. Rehearsals Self-monitoring, self-isolation & social bubbles • Please refer to guidance on “pre-rehearsal & film shoot - travel” to understand expectations regarding self-monitoring and self-isolation prior to rehearsals and the film shoot. 2 • Beyond travel, we ask all shp actors and crew to adhere to B.C. public health guidance in the 14 days prior to the start of in-person rehearsals on September 21 2020, and through the run of rehearsals and filming on September 28-30, 2020. • Further, based on shp’s own risk tolerance, we ask actors and crew to consider limiting the size of their “social bubble” in the 14 days prior to the start of in- person rehearsals and throughout the film shoot– by that, as much as possible, we are asking that you make your work group your social bubble and limit social contacts (aside from immediate family members) for this finite period of time. Illness • shp requires that all cast and crew actively monitor themselves for signs of illness such as fever, chills, dry cough, runny nose, aches & pains, sore throat, headache difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue – no matter how small. If any cast or crew member show any signs of sickness, they must refrain from exposing themselves to the cast/crew and production team until such time as symptoms conclude and/or they can confirm a negative COVID-19 test result. The final decision on whether or not a previously ill individual can return lies with the director. • Should anyone associated with the production become ill during a rehearsal or performance, the following measures will be taken: o The individual experiencing symptoms must immediately declare their illness to the stage manager, wash and sanitize their hands and take steps to self-isolate from cast and crew members, ideally by going home. If going home is not possible the individual must distance from other cast and crew. This individual will then be advised to get tested. o shp will immediately engage in cleaning of all high touch surfaces; o If the individual is confirmed to be COVID-19 positive, shp will suspend production and participate in Vancouver Coastal Health case and contract tracing. Proximity of performers • Physical distancing is only one of the recommended practices to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 and support the expansion of social activities across B.C. Advice from the Deputy Provincial Health Officer is that the two most important and impactful interventions are staying home when you are sick and washing your hands frequently. If these can be adhered to strictly and without exception, the impact of and necessity of physical distancing becomes lesser. We will, however, strive to physically distance between crew and cast at all times. Any crew members who need to be in close proximity of the actors at any point (even for a brief period) will wear PPE. • Crew, directors and stage manager will wear non-medical masks during rehearsals and the film shoot when distance can’t be maintained and engage in frequent hand washing. • Actors and crew will be responsible to get to the venues (both located in central Vancouver) on their own. No transportation will be provided. o Therefore, upon advice from the BC Centre for Disease Control, shp will require actors stay home when sick and diligently wash/cleanse their 3 hands before and after engaging in physical contact, such as during choreography. This has been deemed an acceptable risk mitigation plan within the context of shp’s larger COVID-19 Safety Plan (which includes measures such as self-monitoring for symptoms in the 14 days prior to rehearsals starting). Sanitation • Anyone engaged in rehearsals and the film shoot will partake in frequent hand washing/sanitizing. This will include cleansing hands before, during and after rehearsals and film shoot, including but not limited to, when actors come in contact with one another during choreography and when donning and doffing props, such as purses and the set list. This will also include cleansing hands before and after any break and/or before food or drink is consumed and after visiting a washroom. Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance, by where the food will be served and on the director’s table.

  • Showtime Renews €˜Shameless’ for 11Th and Final Season
Showtime Renews ‘Shameless’ for 11th and Final Season 01.13.2020 Showtime's longest-running series, Shameless, will end after season 11, president of entertainment Gary Levine revealed at TCA winter press tour on Monday. "The characters of Shameless have brought Showtime viewers more laughs and tears and pure enjoyment than any program in our history," Levine said. "While we are sad to bid the Gallaghers farewell, we couldn't be more confident in the ability of showrunner John Wells, his writing team and this great cast to bring our series to its appropriately 'shameless' conclusion." Shameless is part of Showtime's three-and-a-half hours of original scripted programming on Sundays. Season 10, which airs its finale on Sunday, Jan. 26, has averaged 5.7 million weekly viewers across platforms, Showtime revealed. "I'm unbelievably thankful for all of the years of support from Gary Levine and everyone at Showtime that's allowed us to make Shameless," executive producer John Wells said in a statement. "It's been a fantastic experience and all of us in the cast and crew have had a wonderful time following the lives of the Gallagher family and friends." As Shameless come to a close, Showtime is looking toward budding series like The L Word: Generation Q and the Abby McEnany-led Work in Progress, which have been renewed for 10-episode second seasons. Both season one finales are set to air on Jan. 26. "The L Word: Generation Q took our original series that was revered and reinvigorated it for a new generation and a new era," Levine said in a statement.

We witness increasing morbidity, delivery systems Accepted: 27 April 2020 that sometimes are on the brink of collapse, and some shameless rent seeking. However, besides all the challenges, ePublished: 2 May 2020 there are also possibilities that are opening up. In this perspective, we focus on lessons from COVID-19 to increase the sustainability of health systems. If we catch the opportunities, the crisis might very well be a policy window for positive reforms. We describe the positive opportunities that the COVID-19 crisis has opened to reduce the sources of waste for our health systems: failures of care delivery, failures of care coordination, overtreatment or low-value care, administrative complexity, pricing failures and fraud and abuse. We argue that current events can canalize some very needy reforms to make our systems more sustainable. As always, political policy windows are temporarily open, and so swift action is needed, otherwise the opportunity will pass and the vested interests will come back to pursue their own agendas. Professionals can play a key role in this as well.
