Anniversary year, just as promissed ! New models include the Aston Martin DB4 Zagato, 1961 (4 versions), the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS (3 versions), the Mercedes-Benz LKW Renntransporter LO2750 1934-38 and the Talbot Lago Coupé T150 SS Figoni & Falaschi, one of the nicest cars ever made. Furthermore announced are the re-issue of the Maserati Birdcage #5 Moss/Gurney plus a new version #7 Cuba GP Moss and the engine. Then a revised version of the "Blue Wonder"-Renntransporter, with newly discovered exterior-details and accessoires from the archives. Finally 2 Dirty Hero Anniversary-models, each limited to 1000 models. In 1:12 scale a new version of the Auto Union Type C and the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B. Pre-orders can be taken now. Art.nr. This may sound like a lot, but keep in mind that CMC-prices have not changed since 2012 (whilst other manufacturers have increased their prices significantly every year) The quality and detail of the models have also increased a lot. For instance the "good old" Auto Union Type D had "only" 680 parts, whilst the Aston Martin now has 1825 ! Just to compare: Minichamps is very proud to have their Premium Collection Bentley S2 models with app. 400 parts, priced 230 Euro. Aston Martin DB4 -M-132 green/139 white-Le Mans/140 blue/146 Red. You may have seen or folllowed discussions about this model, being not accurately made, not exactly to shape etc. CMC have now changed the grill, the lights and the rear body shape. Model M-132 (green) will come as announced (no changes), the other versions will have these new modifications. In case you have already ordered the green one M-132, you can change your order to one of the other colours, which are all limited editions as well. The price for these models is just a little bit higher. Please let me know if you want to change your order before Feb. 10th. Auto Union Type C 1;12 scale. Again another version of this car, this time it's the 1936 Nürburgring #18 Bernd Rosemeyer-car, known as "Nebelrennen". The other big surprise is the much higher price, especially the trade-price, which does not give any space for discounts. This time CMC has shown a complete prototype, and CMC thinks the first models will be available within a couple of months. It looks like the earlier announced versions (Donington/Rosemeyer #5 and the Museum-version) have been dropped in order to clear the way for this model, and all 4-years costs of development are now included in the new price. I think that -if ever- the other versions will become available, they won't be cheaper than this one. If you have pre-ordered one of the earlier announced versions, please let me know if you want this version now at the new price, or if you want to cancel your order. Release-dates. CMC have shown pre-production samples of all Aston Martins, all Alfa Romeos 6C, the Maserati Birdcage, the revised Renntransporter Blue Wonder, the Dirty Heroes and the 1:12 scale models, so these models will come first, starting starting with the green Zagato (already on its way to Germany). Mercedes Renntransporter 1934 and Talbot Lago probably not untill 2nd half 2015 or later. You can still order models in stock at the old prices untill Feb. 8th, after that the new prices will apply (see my homepage www.tc-models.nl for old and new prices.) Due to our attendence at Retromobile I will not answer any emails from 1st =to 9th of February. Pre-orders to: [email protected] (Please change my emailadres from [email protected] to [email protected]. if you have not done so already).

P.1 of 9 Note 118 Part 2 PICTURES in PRACTICE 1955 practice for Crystal Palace Mike Hawthorn tries Stirling Moss’ Maserati 250F for size. Alf Francis, holding the seat cushion, is on the left. Tony Robinson, Alf’s assistant is on the right. After Hawthorn was 2nd to Harry Schell in a Vanwall in practice, Francis improved the 250F by dropping the axle ratio and taking a leaf out of the rear spring (DASO 147). Hawthorn then won the race from Schell. This was just after Hawthorn had left Vandervell’s team, dissatisfied with their reliability, and returned to Ferrari for the classic GPs. He and Vandervell had exchanged discourteous gestures as he arrived in the paddock! Colin Chapman showing a masterful elbow at Ramp corner in his Lotus Mk IX with an MG 1½ litre engine. The port fuel injection engine of the 1955 Vanwall. The Bosch pump was driven from the front of the inlet camshaft and the fuel flow was controlled mechanically. The airflow was controlled by otherwise- empty Amal carburetter bodies close to the ports. This system can be contrasted with the unsuccessful SU system on Moss’ Maserati at Easter Goodwood. 1956 Practice for Easter Goodwood The new BRM P25 (IL4 2½ litre naturally- aspirated). This was its 3rd event after a non- start at Aintree and a DNF at Oulton Park in 1955. Hawthorn drove it but after transmission failure in the race which resulted in the car overturning was lucky to escape serious injury. P.2 of 9 The works Maserat 250F of Moss was fitted with port fuel injection by a Bosch pump.

THE LEGEND OF QUATTROPORTE CONTINUES TODAY Information Provided by: MARIA TERESA DE FILIPPIS AND MASERATI: RACING’S TRAILBLAZERS FANGIO TOLD HER, “YOU GO TOO FAST. YOU TAKE TOO MANY RISKS.” SHE WAS HavING NONE OF IT The success of Maserati is owed to many things, but perhaps the most important is a willingness to take some risks, to try things that stray from conventional wisdom. Maria Teresa de Filippis is a perfect example. Taking up her brothers on a bet in 1948, Maria proved that she could indeed go very fast in a car – after some practice, she won the very first race she entered. A woman driver was extremely rare in those days – even frowned upon, but Maserati knew talent when they saw it and signed her on as a work driver. She tested new high-performance models and participated in races – including driving the Maserati A6GCS at Targa Florio. A tortuous course set in Sicily’s Madonie Mountains, Targa Florio was among the very first auto-racing events and, to this day, is still considered one of its most challenging, with an extraordinary number of corners, sheer drops and obstacles. Those who endured and came out on top at Targa Florio are still recognized today as the world’s best drivers and automakers – Maserati and Maria set the curve. Those around her, including the world champion Juan Manuel Fangio, advised Maria to slow things down, to play it safer.
