Date: 6 December 2010 Bertolini and Bartels Clinch with the MC12 the FIA
Date: 6 December 2010 Bertolini and Bartels clinch with the MC12 the FIA GT1 World Title Modena, December 6 2010. Fifth Drivers’ title and sixth Team’s title in six seasons for the Maserati MC12 in the international FIA GT Championship - World Championship from this year. Leading actors in Maserati’s 2010 success are once again (the fourth time) the Bertolini- Bartels crew and the German Vitaphone Racing Team: sixth title in six years. Maserati’s success story in the FIA GT Championship started in late 2004 when the MC12 competed in four races, outside of the ranking. Success came early as Maserati picked up its first victory in the second race it entered with Bertolini-Salo. From the following season Maserati joined forces with the Vitaphone Racing Team, flanked in 2005 by JMB and in 2007 by PlayTeam. From 2005 to date, Maserati has struck with the MC12 both its targets, the Drivers’ and Teams’ titles, on every occasion with the single exception of the first time around, when Bertolini- Wendlinger, fielded by the JMB team and heading up the ranking until then, saw the championship victory slip through their fingers in the last race due to a transmission problem which was unprecedented on the car and has since failed to reoccur. Reliability and competitiveness are the two key factors in Maserati’s prolonged series of successes. If the MC12 has been able to stay on top for many years, despite significant changes in the technical regulations, this is due to the fact that the car comes without innate flaws, with a highly rigid carbon fibre monocoque chassis, excellent weight distribution between front and rear, equally excellent aerodynamic balance and a very low centre of gravity. -
2021 Maserati Quattroporte
Quattroporte. An icon of Italian elegance. In 1963, Maserati made the bold move to introduce the first ever luxury sports sedan. Starting with a powerful V8 racing engine, engineers paired it with a beautifully designed luxury sedan and proudly presented it to the world. Thus, the first Quattroporte was born. Quattroporte offers massive race-bred power from a V6 twin-turbo charged engine to the 580hp V8 Trofeo engine. There’s no better way to assert your arrival than with the restyled signature Trident grille. The new Quattroporte taillamps are inspired by the Giugiaro-penned Maserati 3200 GT “boomerang” rear lights that pioneered the use of LED in the industry. To emphasize their unique shape, state-of-the-art 3K injection moulding technology was employed to create a three-color lens. A long wheelbase ensures a spacious, elegantly crafted cabin. Every comfort and convenience is provided, from hand-stitched Italian Pieno Fiore natural leather to cutting-edge driving assistance systems. Quattroporte also features a redesigned instrument cluster and a new 10.1-inch HD screen with Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) multimedia system, which makes your driving experience even more intuitive and engaging. As Maserati continues to shape the future of luxury grand touring, the masterful performance and bold refinement of our flagship will always remain. For 2005, in celebration of its 75th anniversary, Pininfarina has chosen to rekindle creative spirit. The Birdcage 75th is a concept of a road car where everything – style, performance, use and conception of the car – is extreme so as to get the maximum impact on the collective imagination. The car is a futuristic extension of the Maserati brand, and at the same time it serves to reinforce the Tridente’s potent design heritage, and continues its grand tradition of advanced technology enveloped in sporting elegance. Integrating some Motorola technologies make the ‘seamless mobility’ vision real, or the fluidity of the technologies as a subsequent stage of the Internet revolution. Concept The Birdcage 75th, in homage to the spirit of the dream car era, is based on the road racing chassis of the Maserati MC12 and seeks to capture the ultimate expression of speed, sensuality and elegance – to create a functional and dynamic automotive sculpture. The contrast struck between its organic fluidity and the severe tension of its mechanicals, creates a dynamism seldom realized. The clear goal of breaking away from traditional styling solutions and creating a coherent and unique visual experience, led to a particularly innovative integration of the exterior and interior design and construction.
