AMAZING RACE - THE NINE REALMS OF NORSE MYTHLOGY Saturday June 26th, 2-4pm, Grades 7th-12 texts mention the existence of Níu Heimar, translated by scholars as “Nine Worlds.” These nine worlds encompass , Muspelheim, , , Jotunheim, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Svartalfheim and Helheim, all held in the branches and roots of the world tree . Can your group survive the trip through them all and back to win a prize? SIGN UP REQUIRED - sign up in groups of 3-5. Begin at the library. Race begins promptly at 2pm. RICK RIORDAN'S PERCY JACKSON VIRTUAL ESCAPE ROOM Monday June 28th - Saturday August 7th, Recommended for families & ages 12+ You have made it to Camp Half-Blood! EGYPTIAN DEITY SCAVENGER HUNT Saturday July 17th, 11am-3pm, Grades 5th-12th As with any ancient culture, the Egyptians used mythology to try to explain the world around them. Many myths tell of the ancient Egyptian gods (deities) and how they interacted with the mortal world. Can you find all 17 major deities who have lost their way along the Lake Cadillac Bike & Foot Path? NO SIGN UP necessary. This will be an outdoor event - hunt begins at the loop across from the library (corner of Lake & Chapin St) and ends at the Senior Center (intersection of Chestnut & Linden St).

JAPANESE MYTHLOGY IN ANIME COSPLAY CONTEST Saturday August 7th, 11am-3pm, Grades 5th-12th Japanese mythology is a collection of traditional stories, folktales, and beliefs that emerged in the islands of the Japanese archipelago. Many gods and creatures have now crossed over into the world of anime. Films like Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and the Naruto series are filled with characters inspired by mythology. TO ENTER CONTEST: Pick a character that you can prove is influenced by Japanese mythology. Create, create, create! Show up at the library Saturday August 7th to submit an official photo entry. A panel of local judges will decide 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place. *More details and official rules to come*

TEEN SUMMER BOOK CLUB Last Tuesday of the month, 6-7pm, Grades 9th-12 Join us for a monthly book discussion. Pick up a book copy the 1st week of the month; we will discuss it the last Tuesday of the month. Meets outdoors, so dress accordingly. JUNE 29: Firekeeper's Daughter (Boulley).
