Data to the Terrestrial Heteroptera Fauna of Dobrogea Abstract Introduction Matherials and Methodes Torma, A. Data to the terrestrial Heteroptera fauna of Dobrogea Attila Torma University of Szeged, Department of Ecology H–6725 Szeged, Közép fasor 52., Hungary, [email protected]. Abstract Present paper contains Heteroptera faunistical data obtained during the joint expeditions of Babeş-Bolyai University, Sapienta University and University of Szeged. Altogether 109 true bug species of 17 families were collected in Northern-Dobrogea. The plant bugLygus adspersus (Schilling, 1837) is new record to the Romanian fauna. Key words: true bugs, faunistics, Northern-Dobrogea Introduction The investigation of Heteroptera fauna of Dobrogea was started at the end of the 19th century by Montandon (1886). In the 20th century several authors published faunistical and ecological studies (e.g. Sienkiewicz 1962, Sienkie- wicz and Paraschivescu 1963, Negru 1968, Kis 1972, 1976, 1984, 2001). Sien- kiewicz (1962, 1964) published some new species to the Romanian fauna and revised the collection of Montandon. He mentions 144 species for the region. Kis (1972, 1976) summarised the true bug fauna of Dobrogea on the basis of formerly published data and his own collected materials. According to his work 239 Heteroptera species occur in Northern-Dobrogea. Matherials and methodes This paper presents Heteroptera faunistical data obtained during the joint expeditions of Babeş-Bolyai University, Sapientia University and University of Szeged in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2004 the Heteroptera fauna was sampled in the Măcin Mountains, exclusively on 10.09.2004. In 2005 and 89 Biologia | Acta Scientiarum Transylvanica, 17/1, 2009. 2006, respectively two collecting trips were organised (29.05–04.06.2005 and 10–11.06.2006) to the Northern part of Dobrogea. We used different sampling methods: mostly sweep-netting and direct sampling by hand (ground and plant search, turning rocks and sifting of leaf litter). The collected material was preserved in 70o ethylic alcohol. Adult individuals were identified under stereoscopic microscope with the use of various keys (Benedek 1969, Kis 1984, 2001, Kis and Kondorosy 1999, Vásárhelyi 1978, Wagner 1952, 1967). The nomenclature of true bugs is based on Cantoreanu’s study (2007). Results and discussion The collected material comprises of 1013 adult true bug specimens belong- ing to 107 species of 17 families. The list of species is given below. The num- ber of collected species within a specific family is given in parenthesis be- hind the family names. LEPTOPODOMORPHA SALDIDAE (3) Chartoscirta cocksi (Curtis, 1835): 30.05.2005. A number of spider species were collected in 2011 and 2012 in various microhabitats in and around the village Letea (the Danube Delta, Romania) and on the Bulgarian Dobruja Black Sea coast. The results are the start of a proposed longer survey of the spider fauna in the area. The genus Spermophora Hentz, 1841 (with the species senoculata), Xysticus laetus Thorell, 1875 and Trochosa hispanica Simon, 1870 are mentioned in the Romanian fauna for the first time. Floronia bucculenta (Clerck, 1757) is at the first record for the Bulgarian fauna. Diagnostic drawings and photographs are presented. • Štys P. the Stridulatory Mechanism in Centrocoris Spiniger (F.)
ACTA ENTOMOLOGICA MUSEI NATIONALIS PRAGAE 1 9 6 1, X X X I V, 59 2 !--- THE STRIDULATORY MECHANISM IN CENTROCORIS SPINIGER (F.) AND SOME OTHER CQREIDAE (HETEROPTERA) PAVEL STYS (Chair of Systematic Zoology, Charles University, Praha) Introduction · Leston (1957) has summarized the knowledge of stridulatory mecha- . nisms in terrestrial species of Heteroptera. The ability to stridulate was ascertained in 11 terrestrial families of bugs, and 14 types of stridulatory organs have already been registered. In a number of groups (Acanthoso midae, some subfamilies of Pentatomidae, Coreidae) the ability to stridu late was ascertained, but the stridulatory mechanisms have not yet been discovered. It follows from the Leston's summary that the ability to stridulate was alreadyregistered in 3 genera of the family Coreidae: Phyllomorpha Lap., Spathocera Stein and Centrocoris Kolen. However, the stridulatory mechanism is still not known in any of these genera*). Saunders (1893) had noticed that Centrocoris spiniger (Fabricius, 1781) "stridulates loudly", but he did not give more particulars. During my excursion to the western coast of the Caucasus in June 1960 I had an opportunity to collect the mentioned species, to observe its stridulation and to discover its stridulatory meC1hanism. Field observations Centrocoris spiniger (F.) is very common insect on the western coast of the Caucasus. In the period 21st to 28th June 1960 I found it many times (also in copula) in several places near the towns Tuapse and Sochi, always associated with its host-plant Anthemis tinctoria L. (det. V. Ska licky). I failed to hear stridulation of the free specimens on the plants.

This paper reports the invasive subspecies Podonevadne trigona ovum (Zernov, 1901), as dominant in the Danube-Black Sea Canal. In the first two years of the existence of the anthropogenic ecosystem (1985-1986) the zooplankton summarizes only 72 species. Over two decades it recorded the presence of 127 species. As a result of nutrient accumulation, in 2005, the zooplankton abundance has significantly increased, reaching 330 ind L-1, followed by an evident growth of biomass (2285 μg wet weight L-1). In 2005, the productivity registered 731.8 μg wet weight L-1/24h.

Travaux du Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle “Grigore Antipa” 62(1): 137–159. https://doi.org/10.3897/travaux.62.e38595 Abstract A comprehensive list of the taxons dedicated to Grigore Antipa by collaborators, science personalities who appreciated his work was constituted from surveying the natural history or science museums or university collections from several countries (Romania, Germany, Australia, Israel and United States). The list consists of 33 taxons, with current nomenclature and position in a collection. Historical as- pects have been discussed, in order to provide a depth to the process of collection dissapearance dur- ing more than one century of Romanian zoological research. Natural calamities, wars and the evictions of the museum’s buildings that followed, and sometimes the neglection of the collections following the decease of their founder, are the major problems that contributed gradually to the transformation of the taxon/specimen into a historical landmark and not as an accessible object of further taxonomical inquiry. Keywords Grigore Antipa, museum, type collection, type specimens, new taxa, natural history, zoological col- lections. Introduction This paper is dedicated to 150 year anniversary of Grigore Antipa’s birth, the great Romanian scientist and the founding father of the modern Romanian zoology.

Among the factors that cause biodiversity loss, human activity in the sensitive ecosystem of forests can be easily monitored. The research carried out during 2016 focused on the study of Heteroptera, superfamily Pentatomoidea fauna in the Baneasa forest, where the natural environment was modified by human intervention through both recreational activity and constructions, insect collection being made by mowing with the entomological net, determining the structure of the systematic groups of the Heteroptera identified in the Baneasa forest, and a characterization of the zoogeographical origin of the species. In the Baneasa forest, the area hardly affected by the human activity, but less researched in terms of Heteroptera fauna, 52 species of Pentatomoidea were found, in our opinion 12 seem to originate from Manchurian refuge Usuric subcenter, 37 of the Mediterranean arboreal refuge, 2 come from the Caucasian arboreal refuge and one species could originate from the eremial Aralo-Caspic refuge (Turanic). Key words: Heteroptera-Pentatomoidea, biodiversity, forest Băneasa Rezumat. Printre factorii ce determină pierderi în cadrul biodiversitatii, activitatea omului
