The Department acknowledges the Bel Air Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council’s (BABCNC) outreach efforts and concurs with the BABCNC's reasoning to increase the number for board seats from 30 to 32. The BABCNC will change the apportioned seats within their Elected Residential District Representatives by removing 1 Beverly Park Estates District and providing 1 additional seat to North of Sunset District. The BABCNC will also add 1 additional Member-at-large seat increasing it from 2 to 3 and will add a Youth Representative Seat, to be filled by a stakeholder between the ages of 18 and 25. Glen Market Area on Beverly Glen (e) Members-at-Large 3 seat (e) Youth Representative 1 seat The Department recommends the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners: FIND the Bel Air Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council’s request to change their Board structure to increase their board size from 30 to 32; changing the apportioned seats within their Elected Residential District Representatives by removing 1 Beverly Park Estates District and providing 1 additional seat to North of Sunset District and adding 1 additional Member-at-large seat increasing it from 2 to 3 and adding a Youth Representative Seat, to be filled by a stakeholder between the ages of 18 and 25, is consistent with the principles governing a Certified Neighborhood Council's purpose and operations per Article VI, Section 3c of the Plan for a Citywide System of Neighborhood Councils; and APPROVE the requested change to the Bel Air Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council's bylaws. If the Commission approves the change of bylaws, the Amended Bylaw Language shall be deemed approved and become effective immediately. If the Commission rejects the change of bylaws, the Original Bylaw Language shall remain. If the Commission approves the request, the Applicant’s bylaws will be deemed formally adjusted upon such action of the Commission. Should the Commission act to disapprove the request, the Applicant may, within five (5) meeting days of the City Council, during which the Council has convened in regular session, file an appeal with the City Council. The appeal will automatically be placed on the Council’s next regular agenda for consideration. The City Council may, by ten (10) votes, sustain, reverse, or modify the Commission’s decision. After completing this form, please submit it by email along with a completed Bylaw Amendment Application to [email protected]. You may also fax or deliver the documents to our office. The northern 18 acres of the existing MPTF site is developed with 177,200 square feet of medical space, 56,095 square feet of residential space, 23,110 square feet of service/administration space, and 21,371 square feet of activity/recreational space. The central 15.8 acres are used for agricultural crops, and the southernmost 6 acres are undeveloped. The project site is generally bounded by Calabasas Road to the north, Mulholland Drive and Valmar Road to the east, and Park Sorrento in the City of Calabasas Road to the west. El Cañon Avenue to the west and south has been vacated. Adjacent to the project site is residential development to the south and west, and commercial development to the north and east. Major Streets Valley Circle Boulevard is a major highway which is located north of the project site and the US 101 (Ventura) Freeway.

Sherman Oaks is one of the oldest communities in the Valley. It is a large community, bounded by Mulholland Drive on the south, the I-405 freeway on the west, Burbank Boulevard on the north, and Coldwater Canyon Boulevard on the east. SOHA has been a part of this community since our founding in 1964. With a membership of several thousand, we see how our community works together on local projects and cares about our community of interest, which is the San Fernando Valley. SOHA’s monthly meetings draw up to 500 attendees, especially when our residents get to participate in debates for hotly contested political seats. We appreciate that the Commission’s redistricting maps have kept the Sherman Oaks community whole within the “Thousand Oaks – Santa Monica Mountains” California Assembly District and “Los Angeles – Santa Clarita Valley” California Senate District (see maps on page 2).
