Patricia Brown Lott is a 1963 and 1979 graduate of South Carolina State College (now University), serving 37 years as an educator. Her educational career began in Charleston, SC and spanned to Newburgh, NY; Niagara Falls, NY; Orangeburg Consolidated School District 5; and Orangeburg Consolidated School District 3. She served these areas as a classroom teacher of mathematics, 1st mathematics specialist for the teachers in Bamberg-Calhoun and Orangeburg Counties; high school assistant principal and principal.

Ms. Lott is a Life Member of the South Carolina State University National Alumni Association, where she has held the positions of Alumni House chairperson, 1st Vice President and National President; Orangeburg County Chapter of South Carolina State University National Alumni Association, where she has held the positions of Secretary, Vice President and President. She is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she serves as a member of the Board of Trustees; the Orangeburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she has held the positions of Financial Secretary and Treasurer; a former member of the SC State University Foundation, where she served as Vice chairperson and foundation gala chairperson for over five (5) years. In April 2010 she was the first past national alumni president to be elected by the South Carolina General Assembly to serve as a member of the SC State University Board of Trustees. In 2015 she was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament Distinguished Alumnus for South Carolina State University.

Ms. Lott, a member of The STATE Club, has been an avid football fan and season ticket holder for over 30 years. She was instrumental in convincing “the powers to be” to promote season tickets on the visitor’s side of Oliver C. Dawson stadium. She is also a basketball season ticket holder. Ms. Lott believes it is her responsibility and obligation to give back to her alma mater, which gave so much to her.

Ms. Lott is the proud mother of two beautiful children, Wayne ’90 (former Columbia Chapter president – 1995-1999), and Valerie ‘92 (present Second Vice President of SCSUNAA). Wayne is married to the former Tanya Simmons and they have two children, Halee and Blayne.
