He was a member of the Hamilton Boys’ High 1st XV Rugby team. “I am being looked after by the country’s best coaching team and I get to spend every school day with my rugby playing friends. I know that I am making such improvements in my skills and this would not be possible anywhere else. I wake up every morning looking forward to the day’s training sessions. I am so glad I chose to come to Hamilton Boys’ High School.” Riku Morisaki Hamilton Boys’ High School is arguably the most successful rugby school in New Zealand. Hamilton Boys’ High School 1st XV Rugby team has qualified for the National Top 4 Finals tournament, 9 times in the past 11 seasons, the greatest attendance of any school in the country. From those 9 play offs, the 1st XV have been crowned National Champions 4 times. In recent years the school’s 1st XV rugby team’s success has included: • Winners of the Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament 2010, 2011 and 2014. • Winners of 4 National New Zealand Secondary Schools titles 2008, 2009, 2013 & 2015. • Winner of 10 Super 8 Championships. Winner of the National Condor 7s Tournament 2006, 2008, 2015, 2016, 2017.
