Approval of Minutes Discussion and possible action on the approval of the minutes of the February 5, 2019, meeting. Motion to approve. Information and discussion on mental health services available to students in the Clark County School District. Mr. Roberts gave an overview about Mental Health Services department and the resources that they offer. The committee members discussed: suicide; health in middle school; site-based intervention team; Signs of Suicide (SOS) Program; risk assessment; school counselors, nurses, psychologist, and social workers; SafeVoice; school police; academics; college and career readiness; data based counselors; threat assessment, behavior; increase school counselors and social workers; suicide risk assessment; The Harbor; suicidal ideation; Legal 2000; available resources; counselor conference; parent consent; postvention support services; continuous bullying and training for teachers. Role of a School Social Worker in the Clark County School District. Information and discussion on the role of a school social worker in the Clark County School District. Joni Schmidt gave an overview on the role of a school social worker in the Clark County School District. The committee members discussed the role of a social worker and the resources that are available through a social worker. Future Meeting Topics Discussion on topics that can be presented at future meetings of the School Board Student Advisory Committee. Committee members stated they would like to cover region reorganization. School Board Liaison – Feedback and Topics Trustee Brooks said she would discuss which topics to bring forward at future meetings with Olivia Yamamoto. Public Comment Period None.
