For life science research only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. DNA Molecular Weight Marker XVI (0.25–3.09 kbp) 250 ladder

Cat. No. 11 855 638 001 y Version 06 ␮ c 50 g 1 A260 unit Content version: March 2017 50 ␮g (200 ␮l) for 50 gel lanes Store at Ϫ15 to Ϫ25°C

Product overview

Formulation Solution in 10 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM EDTA, pH 8

Concentration 250 µg/ml

Size distribution Fragment mixture prepared by cleavage of specially con- structed plasmids with restriction endonucleases. The mixture contains 12 blunt-ended, double-stranded DNA fragments with the following base pair lengths: 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1250, 1500, 1750, 2000, 2250, 2500, 2750, 3000. The 1000 and 2000 bp banding pattern are 3 × brighter. Electrophoretic separation of this molecular weight marker results in a regular pattern.

Application The 250 bp ladder allows accurate sizing of DNA frag- ments generated by PCR or restriction digest separated on gels. The DNA Molecular Weight Marker XVI can be used in conjunction with DNA Molecular Weight Marker XIII (50 bp ladder)*, DNA Molecular Weight Marker XIV (100 bp ladder)* and DNA Molecular Weight Marker XVII (500 bp ladder) * for precise size determi- nation..

Typical analysis The DNA fragment mixture shows a banding ladder with 12 DNA fragments in agarose as shown in the figure.

Separation Apply 1 µg DNA per lane on a 0.7% Agarose MP* gel. conditions

Storage/stability The unopened vial is stable at Ϫ15 to Ϫ25°C until the Fig.: Separation of 1 µg DNA Molecular Weight Marker XVI on a expiration date printed on the label 0.7 % agarose gel. Ethidium bromide stain.  This product is shipped in dry ice and should be Ϫ Ϫ stored at 15 to 25°C until use. Changes to Editorial Changes Once thawed we recommend further storage at +2 to previous version + 8°C. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided.
