Commemorating the World Skill Development Day, ANU launched ELSP programme, an Employment linked Skill Development programme initiated by ANU in collaboration with Schoolguru Eduserve Pvt. Ltd. The programme was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu in A.P. Secretariat on 15-07-2017. Prof. A. ANU organized its 41st Foundation Day celebrations on 16-09-2017 amidst grandeur and gaiety. WORLD PHARMACISTS DAY ANU College of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized World Pharmacist Day celebrations on 25-09- 2017 with this year’s theme being “From research to health care your Pharmacists is at your service”. Prof. A.Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, ANU presided over the function. Smt. Annapurna, senior Pharmacist, GGH and GGMB Tilak, Manager, Formulation AR & D, Hetero Pharmaceuticals were Guests of Honour. Siva Rama Prasad, Department of Commerce & Business Management were conferred the State Best Teacher Awards by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the year 2017 on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. They received the awards from the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu and Hon’ble Minister for Human Resource Management Sri Ganta Sreenivasa Rao on 05.09.2017 at Vijayawada. Awareness Programme on Anti-Ragging ANU students for Japan A team of 6 students from ANU has been selected to visit Japan in the month of November. As part of an earlier agreement, Toyoma International Affairs Prefectural Government invited the ANU students to study the progress made by Japan in the fields of Industry, Science and Technology. Prof M. Vijayalakshmi, Department of Botany and Microbiology, has been appointed as the Team leader for the visit.

VANAM - MANAM PROGRAMME

An Awareness Programme on Anti-Ragging for students of Arts & Science Colleges of ANU was organized on 22-07-2017. The Chief Guest Sri Ch. Vijaya Rao, Urban S.P. said that students have to keep away from activities such as ragging which is against law. He asked the senior students to mingle well with junior students and maintain cordial relations with each other. He also said that it is important to make their parents’ dreams a reality. A Power Point presentation on the ill effects of ragging was shown. Sri Harihara Sarma said that domination in the form of ragging is seen in the lives of students. He also highlighted the preachings of the Bible, the Bhagavatgita and the Quran which inspire a person to love his neighbor as he loves himself. One Month Free Training Programme on Fabric Painting for Women Inauguration Programme A One Month Free Training Programme on Fabric Painting for Women from a Marginalized Community was organised from 16-8-2017 to 15-09-2017 at Nethaji Nagar, Repalli, Guntur District. Inaugurating the programme, Dr. Saraswati Raju Iyer, Coordinator of Community Social Responsibility stressed the significance of this programme in developing their employability skills. Dr. M.Venkata Ramana, Programme Officer of Centre for CSR, encouraged the women to learn painting well so that they can supplement their family income. 50 women got themselves enrolled for the programme. Raju Iyer, Coordinator, Centre for CSR explained the activities One Day Training Programme on Repair & Servicing taken up by this centre and briefed how this programme would of Sewing Machines for Middle Class Women contribute to their lives. MOU with Western Australia MOU with Global Universities ANU signed MoUs with the State University of New York, Polytechnique Institute (Sunypoly) USA and Jillian Agricultural University, Changchun for offering Twinning programmes in Engineering courses including Computer Science, Architecture and Civil Engineering.

ANU signs MoU for Skill Development Courses An MoU was signed between ANU & HR Services Limited on 14-7-2017 to offer employment oriented Skill Development Courses to ANU students. Curtin University of Western Australia and Acharya Nagarjuna University entered into an MoU on 31.08.2017 for MOU with Coimbatore World Community Center Research and Teaching by which the students of ANU can Acharya Nagarjuna University signed an MOU with pursue studies in Australia for a short period and students of Coimbatore World Community Center to start a new course Curtin University can pursue studies in ANU. MOU with Shenyang Jianzhu University

As the ANU College of Architecture & Planning has an MoU with Shenyang Jianzhu University, China, a Consultancy Team from China visited ANUCAP and discussed with faculty and invited expert suggestions on the Plans and Designs of the proposed City Square at Vijayawada on 24th August, 2017. In the meeting with the Vice-Chancellor the team requested the help of Architecture students in the construction the building in Vijayawada. Prof. Anjaneyulu, Director of International Students Cell was present.

MoU with Guizhou Normal University (China) ANU entered into an MoU with Guizhou Normal University, China on 12-7-2017. Prof. A. Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, ANU signed the MoU. The MoU is meant for free education, boarding and lodging for students of ANU for a period of 5 years. Junior College, Guntur: The NSS Unit PO’s and The Chief Guest, Guntur Urban, S.P Ch.Vijayarao and District Volunteers participated in Vanam-Manam programme at Judge A.Haranadha Sarma participated in the programme. Obulanaidupalem, Guntur on 1.7.2017. Dr. P.P.S. Paul Kumar, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, ANU monitored the programme. The volunteers were encouraged to donate Blood and Save Lives. In this camp 185 Units of Blood were donated to Red Cross Society.

Blood Donation Programme - Bapatla College of Arts & Sciences, Bapatla NSS Units-I/II/III of Bapatla College of Arts & Sciences, Bapatla conducted a Blood Donation Camp on 25.07.2017. The camp was conducted in association with Red Cross Society of Bapatla. Dr. P.P.S. Paul Kumar, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, ANU monitored the programme. In this camp 85 Units of Blood were donated to Red Cross Society, Tenali/Guntur.

West Zone NSS Pre -Republic Day Parade Camp-2017 As per the directions of the Regional Director of NSS, Hyderabad NSS Cell, ANU University Level Selection of West Zone NSS Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp-2017 Selection and deputation of NSS Volunteers from different NSS Units of Guntur & Prakasam Districts took place. The University has been allotted 02 male and 02 female NSS Volunteers for partitipation in the Pre-RD Camp on 29.08.2017.

The focus should be on making the village free from open defecation and construction of toilets. 09-08-2017 to 10-08-2017 Intensive Cleaning of the village/slum with the involvement of local people 11-08-2017 to 13-08-2017 Intensive Cleaning of locally based Welfare Agencies viz., Hospitals, Dispensaries, old age homes/rehabilitation centres, railway/bus stations, public places etc. Special drive may be on cleaning of public statues, monuments, tourist places etc. 14-08-2017 Rallies in the respective villages/cities depicting various messages of cleanliness on banners and playcards to create awareness to the masses. 15-08-2017 Meeting of NSS volunteers under the Chairmanship of Principal and declaration of the college as “Clean Institution/College”.
