President The Hellenic Vasileos Georgiou B', n.2 P.C. 100 28

Dear Madame President,

On behalf of the American Hellenic Institute (AHI), I extend to you my warmest congratulations for your ascension to the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic.

I also want to congratulate you on the 199th anniversary of Greek Independence Day, and for your valiant efforts to fight a battle of another sort, that of the coronavirus. The Greek government has been extraordinarily effective and professional in its response to the virus, and I want to commend you for this.

I wish you the best as you navigate the many challenges that you and the people of continue to face. I am confident that you will be successful in all of your endeavours in finding the solutions that are necessary to continue to forge Greece ahead in a positive direction.

I commend you for your career in public service, and for your contributions to Greece in various capacities and at the highest levels, ultimately culminating in your making history as the first female President of the Hellenic Republic.

We are eager to work with you and other members of the government on issues of mutual concern and in particular as they relate to issues affecting U.S. relations with Greece. I have always felt that Greece plays a significant role within the geostrategic area that it occupies and that Greece has been a stalwart ally for western interests. To this effect, we will always be here at your disposal to continue advancing this message.

I look forward to visiting with you during my next visit to Athens.

Once again, congratulations.

Sincerely,

Nick Larigakis President
