Ronaldo Vs. Ronaldo Rough Draft.Docx Kevin Guevara Wri 10 Abuan 19/3/13 Top Eleven Ronaldo vs Ronaldo, the question at hand is who is the better candidate to be placed in Comment [1]: Bernie Gabriel: Also it is unclear to people who don't really follow soccer who you are talking about. You the Top Eleven squad of All Time? Each generation there are new upcoming soccer stars that should probably state their first names in the intro. break records and take the game to greater heights. The soccer world always waits on these Comment [2]: Jesan Morales: what he said ^ Comment [3]: Bernie Gabriel: recognitions given out to an individual player. Each year players are selected as the best eleven I think that the first sentence works better after the sentence, " Each year players are selected as the best eleven..." in the world in that year, but being selected in being in the top eleven of all time is a greater Comment [4]: Bernie Gabriel: Confusing sentence in my opinion.Maybe it accomplishment. Selecting which Ronaldo should be placed in the forward/striker spot is tough. would sound better if it said, "Avid followers soccer wait to see which individual players receive these recognitions." Both Ronaldo’s in their careers have achieved so much in the clubs they played for such as FIFA Comment [5]: Jesan Morales: you should re phrase this sentense. World Player of the Year and European Golden Boot. Although these two players were performing at their best in different generations we must compare them evenly according to the ages in which they reached their prime. Why is choosing which Ronaldo such a hassle. Well both players although played in Comment [6]: Jesan Morales: I dont think its a good way to start a sentence different times accomplished a lot. First off we are going to examine the original Ronaldo, or as Comment [7]: Bernie Gabriel: and accomplished a lot. many know him as “The Phenomenon” (Sports Illustrated). His birthplace was Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and being Brazilian in the world of soccer meant who ever came out to be a professional footballer must be simply amazing and Ronaldo was no exception. When Ronaldo was being labeled as “The Phenomenon” he stated “I’m not a phenomenon, just a 21 year old footballer who still has a lot to learn” (Ronaldo). He knew he was an amazing and gifted player but all the Comment [8]: Bernie Gabriel: I'm not sure if this is cited correctly. where did you get this quote from? You should use that fame and glory did get too him. He won his first world cup at the age of 17 helping Brazil info. winning their fourth world cup since 1970 (FIFA). Ronaldo was playing in an “age where every Comment [9]: Bernie Gabriel: He won his first world cup at the age of 17 helping Brazil winning their fourth world cup, dribble and wonder goal was recorded for posterity” (FIFA), meaning that his skills were going which was their first World Cup since 1970. to inspire a future generation in to try to imitate or surpass the skills he has shown in the professional level. He was a master at what he did, scored numerous of goals for every club he played and some of them being Barcelona and Real Madrid. During his time of playing he won the FIFA World Player of year award 3 times. Which is a numerous amount taking in count of all the other great players that were playing at the time like Zidane, Raul, Figo, and Rivaldo all extraordinary players at the time. In other words Ronaldo knows his way around incredible players. Ronaldo who is the record holder for most Comment [10]: Jesan Morales: should probably write his whole name atleast once goals in a FIFA world cup, a total count of 15 shows that he is always capable of stepping up even on an international level such as the world cup not only winning one at the age of 17 but also won the world cup in 2002 making Brazil a five time world champion making them the best in history. Now when speaking of Cristiano Ronaldo a much similar style of football as the original Comment [11]: Jesan Morales: hate when they do this but in america they call it soccer not football. I think you should stick with Ronaldo did. Cristiano Ronaldo is a player who surely has given a run to Ronaldo to be placed in it the Top Eleven. This young player can surely be called one of the best in his generation. Not only those Cristiano Ronaldo or better known as “CR7” have the capability of getting of trouble when in danger he is also a leader and a game changer for the team. This is a trademark Ronaldo had as well, they both know can score when it is less suspected which is a reason why both are amazing capable players of being in the Top Eleven. Comment [12]: what are you trying to say? Cristiano Ronaldo was a youngster born San Antonio, Portugal. Cristiano being a Comment [13]: Jesan Morales: this paragraph should probably go before the previous one or at least the info on CR7 youngster in his club Sporting Lisbon soon caught the eyes of the Red Devils Manchester United in which he signed for the club and was on his way to his legacy. While Cristiano Ronaldo was in Manchester United not only did he help his team win the English Premier League in 06/07 but also led his team to win one of the most competitive tournaments in soccer which was the Champions Cup and that is a trophy original Ronaldo never won. Cristiano who is 28 years old right now and being a world-wide sensation due to his joining of Real Madrid in 2009 he has broken records in a the few years he has been in the white and black uniform. His charisma brings gets the whole team playing on a level nearly unstoppable. He is fast and can outrun any defender as an old teammate of his stated “Ronaldo is a bully. He bullies the weakest defender. He does it all the time" (Gary Neville). Gary Neville doesn’t necessarily mean that Ronaldo just looks good because he can pass weak defenders; he merely means that he is that good. Ronaldo can make any good defender look like an average joe on the field. Comment [14]: Jesan Morales: try to sound more professional Cristiano Ronaldo’s technique is flawless, he can dribble a player or two and simply score just Comment [15]: Jesan Morales: indent like that. Winning the Champions Cup with Manchester United, also entitled him to be FIFA’s World Player of the Year in 2008 (FIFA).Doing so, caught the eye of soccer giants Real Madrid who signed him in 2009 the same exact team that signed Ronaldo in 2002. Both Ronaldo’s accomplished so much and will leave so much behind that it will take years for any other player to accomplish what they have for the team. Both players played against the Red Devil in the Champion Cups, while both merged successful. Cristiano Ronaldo recently played them in 2013, defeating them by a goal difference, while Ronaldo played them in 2003 in which he scored 3 goals and at the end of the game received a standing ovation from both side of the players. That is why it is a hard decision to choose between Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo. They both had the same technique each could out dribble any player and simply score. They are both experts at what they do and love every moment of it. When choosing who deserves the spot in being in the top eleven it is difficult, they are both excellent footballers that can change the outcome of any game. When choosing who deserves to be in the Top Eleven of All-Time is a difficult decision because deciding who is the best striker to fill in that position Cristiano Ronaldo or Ronaldo is not easily done. In one hand we have Ronaldo a former striker who led not only his club to glory but also his country to two different world cup titles and in the other we have Cristiano Ronaldo another striker who has just led his clubs to glory but failed to do the same for his country. We have a 3 time FIFA World Player of the Year compared to a 1 time FIFA Player of the Year. Comparing both players in their prime deciding the which player should be chosen to be named in the Top Eleven of All-Time should be Original Ronaldo, because not only can he score for his clubs he can also do the same in an international level without any stress. Choosing him seems as the obvious choice for now, but if Cristiano Ronaldo does what Ronaldo did he can try and give Ronaldo a run for his money in the future. Works Cited "Classic Football." “perplexity is the beginning of knowledge…” Kahlil Gibran A Tear and A Smile (1950) STYLIN’! SAMBA JOY VERSUS STRUCTURAL PRECISION THE SOCCER CASE STUDIES OF BRAZIL AND GERMANY Dissertation Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for The Degree Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Susan P. Milby, M.A. * * * * * The Ohio State University 2006 Dissertation Committee: Approved by Professor Melvin Adelman, Adviser Professor William J. Morgan Professor Sarah Fields _______________________________ Adviser College of Education Graduate Program Copyright by Susan P. Milby 2006 ABSTRACT Soccer playing style has not been addressed in detail in the academic literature, as playing style has often been dismissed as the aesthetic element of the game. Brief mention of playing style is considered when discussing national identity and gender. Through a literature research methodology and detailed study of game situations, this dissertation addresses a definitive definition of playing style and details the cultural elements that influence it. A case study analysis of German and Brazilian soccer exemplifies how cultural elements shape, influence, and intersect with playing style. Eight signature elements of playing style are determined: tactics, technique, body image, concept of soccer, values, tradition, ecological and a miscellaneous category. Each of these elements is then extrapolated for Germany and Brazil, setting up a comparative binary. Literature analysis further reinforces this contrasting comparison. Both history of the country and the sport history of the country are necessary determinants when considering style, as style must be historically situated when being discussed in order to avoid stereotypification. Historic time lines of significant German and Brazilian style changes are determined and interpretated.

TO THE MEMBERS OF FIFA Circular no. 1208 Zurich, 30 October 2009 SG/lvi 2009 FIFA Women's World Player and FIFA World Player Dear Sir or Madam, We are pleased to inform you that FIFA will be honouring the world's best men and women players for the nineteenth successive year at the 2009 FIFA World Player Gala in Zurich on 21 December 2009. The enhanced voting procedure that FIFA introduced in 2004 will again enable coaches and captains of men's and women's national teams to nominate the three top male and female players of the year. To simplify this process, the Football Committee and the Committee for Women's Football and the FIFA Women's World CUpTM drew up one list of nominees each for the men's and women's award. The coaches and captains may vote for th ree of their personal favourites from these lists only. Please arrange for the coaches and captains of your men's and women's national teams to fill in the enclosed voting forms and return them to us no later than 19 November 2009. In making their decision, the coaches and captains should take into account not only the players' on-field performance but also the ir overall behaviour on and off the pitch. Please note that coaches and captains may NOT vote for players from the national team they coach or play for. To date, the following players have won the FIFA World Player title: Lothar Matthsus (1991), Marco van Basten (1992), Roberto Baggio (1993), Romario (1994), George Weah (1995), Rivaldo (1999), Luis Figo (2001), Ronaldo (1996, 1997 and 2002), Zinedine Zidane (1998, 2000 and 2003), Ronaldinho (2004 and 2005), Fabio Cannavaro (2006), Kaka (2007) and Cristiano Ronaldo (2008).

  • FUTSAL BASIC PRINCIPLES MANUAL FUTSAL Training Manual
FUTSAL BASIC PRINCIPLES MANUAL FUTSAL Training Manual History of Futsal The development of Salón Futbol or Futebol de Salão now called in many countries futsal can be traced back to 1930 in Montevideo, Uruguay, the same year the inaugural World Cup was held in the country. This early form of futbol Sala (futsal) was developed by Juan Carlos Ceriani to be played at YMCAs. Ceriani's game was designed for five players per team, and could be played indoors or outdoors. At around the same time, a similar form of football played on basketball courts was being developed in São Paulo, Brazil. These new forms of football were quickly adopted throughout South America. The Brazilian Confederation of Sport instituted its first official rules for futebol de salão in 1958. The international governing body FIFUSA (Federación Internacional de Fútbol de Salón, International Futsal Federation) was created in 1971 to administer the game, and held its first futsal world championship in São Paulo in 1982. Due to an apparent dispute with FIFA over the administration of fútbol, FIFUSA coined the word fut-sal in 1985, while the United States Futsal Federation coined the name "Futsal" the same year. FIFA soon began to administer its own indoor soccer games, creating its own version of the rules and hosting its first FIFA Indoor Soccer World Championship in 1989 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in 1992 it was the FIFA Five-a-Side World Championship (Hong Kong) and since 1996 it has been called the FIFA Futsal World Championship (Guatemala). One of the most remarkable changes was the reduction of the ball weight and increase in ball size (from a handball size to a football size 4), which enabled faster play and, for the first time, scoring goals with the head (though this is still difficult and uncommon).

  • As You Know, the World Is Full of Important People. from Presidents to Scientists to Singers, All Celebrities Influence Our Culture in Different Ways
As you know, the world is full of important people. From presidents to scientists to singers, all celebrities influence our culture in different ways. But when it comes to us as individuals, there are few people more influential than our fathers. Fathers inspire us, guide us, and motivate us. They not only shape who we are, but also what we will become. Their impact can even be felt long after they’re gone. Take the story of Rivaldo Vitor Borba Ferreira … or just Rivaldo for short. Rivaldo is a retired Brazilian soccer player, famous the world over for the goals he scored, the trophies he won, and the skill he displayed. But that’s not what makes his story so compelling … nor is it what this letter is about. This letter is not about Rivaldo the athlete, but Rivaldo the father and Rivaldo the son. It’s about family. Rivaldo spent his childhood in Recife, a city on Brazil’s northeast coast. Like most cities, Recife has both its glamor side and its less glamorous side, and it was the latter where Rivaldo was raised, in the favelas (Portuguese for slums) of the giant port city. Soccer has always been huge in Brazil’s metropolitan areas, especially in the poorer quarters. That’s because, for children growing up in a favela, soccer is more than just a game—it’s a means of escape. Rivaldo spent most of his days selling souvenirs to tourists in order to bring money home for his family, before devoting his nights to kicking a ball around on the beach.
