In the primary, secondary and tertiary industries, the total output increase reached 12.79 billion Yuan, 222.36 billion Yuan and 278.45 billion Yuan respectively. The income growth rate of rural and urban residents was higher than GDP growth. Chengdu economic zone has also been taking the lead in economic growth among the five major economic zones in Sichuan. The policy of economic restructuring and steady economic growth has contributed to structural transformation in Chengdu and Western Sichuan economic zone in particular. According to the arrangement of the GEM memorandum, the provincial government finance office, Shenzhen stock exchange and Sichuan-Tibet equity trading center in Chengdu will exert respective efforts in building some 100 key enterprise libraries and absorbing new start-up enterprises. The government will also give out 500 thousand Yuan subsidy to support the plan. In the last 6 months, Chengdu’s industrial investment grew significantly. The 6 new enterprises include Liberty Mutual Insurance Group from the US, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Saint- Gobain from France and TESCO from the UK and the French state-owned railway company (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer FranCis). Government policies have contributed to the rise of listed companies by giving out subsidies to various enterprises. There are also rewards up to 1 million Yuan for each acquisition and merger. Export value in Sichuan province was 94.45 billion Yuan, down by 23%, while import value was down by 30.9% of 52.8 million Yuan. In contrast with the significant drop of value in private sectors, Chengdu’s automobile export surged to 280 million Yuan. Newly registered capital (gold) reached 33.887 billion Yuan and newly- registered individual businesses reached 1771. Currently, the level of Chengdu’s high-tech zone incubation carrier and the number of enterprises ranks the top in Sichuan. Ever since 2014, in the evaluation report of national high- tech zone innovation ability issued by the ministry of science and technology, Chengdu high- tech zone ranked third in China and first in Midwest regions. The state council has recently approved that High-Tech District of Chengdu being upgrading to national innovation demonstration zone , thus it became the first in Western China and 8th nationally after Zhongguangcun in Beijing, East Lake in Wuhan, Zhangjiang In Shanghai, Shenzhen, Sunan in Jiangsu province, Tianjian and Zhutan in Hunan Province. Chengdu, in the Chinese province of Sichuan, is the second fastest growing destinations in the world. This index predicts that in 2015, the international visitors will increase from 480,000 in 2009 to 1.49 million in 2015. According to the report, the most visited 10 cities in China are: Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xian, Ximen, and Tianjin.
