REPUBLIC OF KENYA COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF KITUI FIRST COUNTY INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2013- 2017 Planning for Sustainable Socio-Economic Growth and Development Towards a Globally Competitive and Prosperous Nation County Vision To be a prosperous county with vibrant rural and urban economies whose people enjoy a high quality of life County Mission To provide effective county services and an enabling environment for inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development and improved livelihoods for all i FOREWORD This County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) will be critical in laying a firm foundation for the sustainable development of our county. Effective implementation of the plan will be pivotal in nurturing an inclusive enabling environment with vibrant rural and urban economies that will deliver prosperity and a high quality of life for all. The Plan forms the basis for projects and programmes’ planning, policy, and budgeting over the 2013-2017 plan period. The five year CIDP is aligned to the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Kenya Vision 2030 and Medium Term Plan II. The Plan is also informed by the experiences on the implementation of past global and national policies such as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the Economic Recovery Strategy for Wealth and Employment Creation (ERS) (2003-2007 and the First Medium Term Plan (MTP I) for the 2008-2012 period.
