Five players that are particularly offensive-minded lead the front line, highlighted by Skyler Wilson (Yale recruit), middie Patrick McIntosh (Virginia), Dawson Wynne (Maryland), Thomas McIntire 1 CONOR O’NEILL 10 G (Holy Cross) and Connor Drake (Duke). Wilson and McIntosh are the playmakers that drive 2 LOGAN MCNANEY 12 G Salisbury’s offensive engine. One of the nation’s top goalies, Logan McNaney, possesses a high 3 ANDREW MAPSTONE 12 A lax IQ and is headed to Maryland. The defense features Miles Bollman (Michigan), Bobby Bivona 4 TIMMY LISCHER 12 M (Holy Cross), Luke Dilorio (Bucknell) and juniors Caden Kol (Syracuse) and Kaden Brothers 5 TYLER CARPENTER 12 D (Johns Hopkins). When Salisbury needs a possession, it relies on junior fogo Jaxon Popovich, a 6 DAWSON WYNNE 12 M Providence recruit, who wins 65% of his draws from the X. There’s more talent in the midfield with 7 PATRICK MCINTOSH 11 A junior Jack Neill (Villanova), Timmy Lischer (Air Force) and Michael Dilorio (Boston University). 8 JAKE GORALNIK 11 M 9 MILES BOLLMAN 12 D ROAD TO THE 2019 GEICO HIGH SCHOOL LACROSSE NATIONALS 10 BRYCE FAULSTICH 12 M There is no shortage of grueling games on Salisbury’s schedule especially when they compete in 11 KADEN BROTHERS 11 D Western New England Division I. The signature win this season was a 12-7 drubbing of nationally 12 MIKE DIIORIO 12 M ranked Brunswick (CT). In the game, Salisbury tallied six of the next seven goals for an 8-3 lead in 14 BRADLEY RIDER 12 A/M the opening half. Brunswick pulled with a goal in the third quarter but the Crimson Knights turned 15 CAYDEN BRODNAX 12 M up the attack late and took charge of the league title race. The slate opened with victories over 16 LUKE DIIORIO 12 D Georgetown Prep (MD), 12-7, on March 30 and Haverford School (PA), 12-10. Once the Crimson 17 CONNOR DRAKE 12 M Knights dispatched of those two nationally ranked squads, they dove head first into their league 18 BOBBY BIVONA 12 D with Berkshire School (MA), Trinity-Pawling (NY), Phillips Andover (MA), Westminster School 20 ANTHONY KAMBEITZ 11 M (CT), Loomis Chaffee (CT), Hotchkiss School (CT), Kent School (NY) and Taft School (CT). The 21 WILL FARRELL 12 M Crimson Knights were unbeaten heading into the regular season finale against Choate Rosemary 22 JACK HANAU 11 M (CT) on May 22. That sets up the Crimson Knights for another run here at Catholic University. 23 ALEX CARPENTER 10 A/M 24 WILL MCINTOSH 10 M IN THE CREASE 25 JOEY BRESETTE 11 A A year ago, the Crimson Knights made their debut in the GEICO High School Lacrosse Nationals 26 ETHAN HENNESSEY 12 M and advanced to the title game where it lost to The Hill Academy (ON), 15-12. Taite Cattoni (now 27 JAX POPOVICH 11 M at Johns Hopkins), who was shut out through three quarters, regained his scoring mojo when 28 MATT PEOPLES 11 M Salisbury needed it. His second-consecutive goal at 4:29 dipped the deficit to two goals, 13-11, 29 GRIFF WILSON 12 M but Hill scored twice last three minutes to win their second straight title. Salisbury went 2-1 in last 30 MAX BARTRON 11 A year’s tournament - they need only two wins in the new four-team format. 31 LUKE NEMSICK 10 D 32 SKY WILSON 12 A Next month, the Crimson Knights will be represented by three players at the 14th annual Under 33 LIAM O’HARA 11 D Armour All-American Lacrosse Game. That’s because middie Connor Drake, attack/middie Skyler 34 ZACK TAYLOR 10 D Wilson and goalie Logan McNaney were announced during the regular season. The game is scheduled for June 29 at Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Field. McNaney is a superior shot-stopper 35 TREY SCOTTI 11 D with lightning quick hands, Wilson possesses tremendous stick skills and athleticism, while Drake 38 DYLAN HEIN 11 D is a four-star (out of five) recruit known for his speed and agility. 41 DAVIS BURLESON 10 A 44 CADEN KOL 11 D Head coach Bobby Wynne is a jack-of-all-trades at Salisbury School. He’s titled the Director of 55 JACK NEILL 11 M Lacrosse Operations, but additionally is the school’s assistant headmaster and director of college 66 THOMAS MCINTIRE 12 A advising. Wynne was a middie at Hobart (Class of 1994) where he helped the Statesmen win 91 NICKY HAY 11 M two national championships. His son, Dawson, is senior on the team and will attend Maryland 99 ROBBY KASTEN 12 M in the fall. HEAD COACH: BOBBY WYNNE Raise your hand if you know where Salisbury School is located. Well, you wouldn’t be the only one that did not know the private all-male boarding school is situated in the rural northwest corner of @BURYLAX Connecticut near the state lines of Massachusetts and New York, and is about a 2-hour drive from New York City. The demanding college preparatory school was founded in 1901 and is nestled in the Berkshire Mountains. • 2012 Boston Cannons Media Guide
2012 Media Guide About Major League Lacrosse BACKGROUND: During the summer of 1998, Jake “Body By Jake” Steinfeld was inspired to start a professional outdoor lacrosse league after reading a magazine article about the growth of the sport of lacrosse. Steinfeld sought out a contributor to the article, Owner and President of Warrior Lacrosse Dave Morrow, a leading lacrosse equipment manufacturer, to discuss formation of such a league. In February 1999 Steinfeld and Morrow joined forces with Steinfeld’s friend and business associate Tim Robertson, Chairman of Bay Shore Enterprises and former CEO of the Family Channel, to form Major League Lacrosse, LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. In 2003, New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc. came on board as a Founding Member of Major League Lacrosse, as well as an Anchor Level League Sponsor. Major League Lacrosse began play in 2001 to capitalize on the growing demand for world-class field lacrosse driven by dramatic growth in the U.S. lacrosse market. The MLL was praised and heralded for its on-field play, regarded as the best ever seen. With a year-on-year attendance increase, Major League Lacrosse has continued to lead the sport of lacrosse into the mainstream of competitive team sports. OUR TEAMS: MLL is comprised of eight teams across the US and Canada. The Boston Cannons, Long Island Lizards, and Chesapeake Bayhawks (formerly Baltimore and Washington) have been members of the League since its inception in 2001. The Denver Outlaws began play in 2006 as part of the League’s western expansion. The Hamilton Nationals (formerly Toronto) joined MLL in 2009 as the League’s first international team.
