Their son, Josiah Tattnall (1764-1803), married Harriet Fenwick, daughter of Colonel Edward Fenwick of South Carolina. Their son, Josiah Tattnall (1795-1871), married his first cousin, Harriet Fenwick Jackson, daughter of Ebenezer Jackson. Ebenezer Jackson married Charlotte (Fenwick) Pierce, widow of Major William Leigh Pierce, and sister of Harriet (Fenwick) Tattnall. Scope and Content Note This collection contains chronologically arranged Georgia land records: grants, bonds, deeds, leases, releases, etc., from 1755-1775 and 1793. Some of these items have attached plat maps and pendant seals. The correspondence in this collection are of William G. Goodwin and range in date from 1926-1927. They concern the sale of a piece of furniture, a Button Gwinnett autograph and other papers. He also attempted, unsuccessfully, to sell the diary of Major William Leigh Pierce which he kept while attending the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787 as a delegate from Georgia. A 1985 note located in the front of Folder 14 states that the diary is now on deposit at the Princeton University Library, Princeton, NJ. This collection contains the following photographs and negatives: (3) of a Button Gwinnett signature; (3) of a Lachlan McIntosh (and Lachlan McGillivray) signature; and (2) of a seal located in the collection. Administrative Information Custodial History The Jackson and Tattnall families land records and correspondence were passed down in the family to Eben and Edward Q. Jackson of Middleton, CT, sons and executors of Hannah Sage Jackson. Their cousin, William B. Goodwin of Hartford, CT disposed, for the Jackson family, of many of the papers in 1926-1927. Some of the papers were sold, others were given to the Connecticut Historical Society which sent them to the Georgia Historical Society.
