A very special thank you to all those businesses who donated and to the team who solicited these wonderful donations. Thank you to our amazing Ben Franklin Academy Teachers and Staff for their creative and fun teacher experiences. Thank you to all our Room Parents and BFA families for their contributions to our large list of exciting classroom baskets. The proceeds of this event will be used to fund programs that directly benefit the children of our school. Please show your support and appreciation to those who have donated and to those who have worked so hard getting donations by bidding (and bidding high!) on these items. Finally, it takes a village to make an event this large a success. THANK YOU to our Auction Committee, for volunteering so much time and energy for this year’s event! It definitely couldn’t happen without you. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! 9 10 Letter from the P T O Dear Ben Franklin Academy Community, When I think about how our school has grown and changed since my family and I first came to BFA in August 2012 -- the middle school addition, the STEAM expansion, the change of the upper parking lot from a field into a true parking lot, the outdoor turf and playground enhancements -- it’s clear to me that this place truly is awesome. Then, when you stop and realize that our school is only in its seventh year, the growth and changes become even more remarkable. Part of what makes our school community unique and so special is how each of us made a choice to be here. Whether you are a member of the school board, administration, or staff, a teacher, a parent, a grandparent, a PTO member, or if you fall into more than one of these categories, you are important and you matter. Our school would not be what it is today without each and every single one of you and, of course, the children. We, the PTO, are pleased to present you with the 2017 BENefit Bash Auction Catalog. Our wonderful team of volunteers has worked a countless number of hours to put this incredible event together. A complete list of thank yous to all the volunteers is included elsewhere in the catalog. This year’s BENefit Bash is poised to be a success. And, through your continued generosity, we look forward to being able to support BFA through providing additional upgrades and enhancements to the school, fulfilling teacher requests, and continuing important BFA programs and traditions. I’m honored to represent the PTO as we kick off the 2017 BENefit Bash. I hope you enjoy all the offerings included in the catalog and thank you for your continued support of Ben Franklin Academy. The Silent Auction will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 11. The Silent Auction will close at 6:45 p.m. 2. Each guest will receive a bid number at the time of registration. This bid number is your identification; please keep it with you throughout the evening. 3. To make a bid for a Silent Auction item, simply mark your name, bidder number and the amount you wish to bid on the corresponding bid sheet. The opening bid on each item must be at least the minimum price listed. Each subsequent raise must follow the increment listed. Any bids not adhering to this format will be declared invalid and voided. If a name is crossed out, that bid will be considered null. 4. There is no “upper limit” for your bids! If the bid sheet is full, please turn it around and continue on the back or request a second sheet from an Auction Volunteer continuing to adhere to the increment set on the item. 5. Spectacular Socials are group parties or events for a specified number of attendees at a set price. If you are interested in joining the group, then simply add your name and bidder number to the list. Once all of the spaces are filled, the event is full and you no longer can sign up. Bidders listed will pay the set fee and will be part of the fun. Spectacular Socials dates and activities are subject to change. 6. Once the silent auction is declared closed, the last bid entered on the bid sheet that adheres to the designated increment shall constitute the winning bid and will be highlighted. The Auction Committee will mediate any disputes among bidders and their determination shall be final. 7. The Live Auction Program will begin at approximately 7:45 p.m. To enter a bid in the Live Auction, hold your bidder number high so either the Auctioneer or one of the bid spotters can easily see your number. A bid acknowledged by the auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item. 15 8. In the event of a dispute between live auction bidders, the Auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer the item in dispute. 9. Checkout will open at 9:00 p.m. Winning bids will be charged to the credit card on file from your ticket purchase. Auction item purchases are final. No returns or exchanges will be issued, nor is it possible for expiration dates to be extended. All provisions listed in the certificates are subject to availability. 10. Please check IRS Rules & Regulations regarding tax deductibility. 11. The BENefit Bash Auction Committee has attempted to catalog and describe the auction items correctly, but all items are sold “as is”. Any changes to auction items after the printing of this catalog will be reflected on bid sheets. Bid sheets are the final word on auction item details. Ben Franklin Academy and the Auction Committee provide no guarantees, warranties or servicing of auction items and is not liable for any personal injury or damage to property that may result from the use of the item or service sold. 12. Items must be picked up at the event and taken away by purchaser on the spot. Any items left behind must be picked up by the purchaser at the location in where item is held.
