08.45 Ministers and delegates proceed to the Plenary Hall, JCC.

08.50 The Heads of State/Government are ushered by the Heads of State Protocol to the Plenary Hall, JCC. The Heads of State/Government take their seat.

09.00 The Master of Ceremony invites all delegates to take their seat.

09.35 The Heads of State/Government and Heads of Delegation are ushered by the protocol officers to the designated stand at the Main Lobby of the JCC for Photo Session.

09.55 After the photo session, the Heads of State/Government proceed to Assembly Hall 1, for coffee break. Refreshments for Ministers and delegates are served at Assembly Hall 3 and the Main Lobby respectively.

- Friday Prayer at Golden Ball Room Hilton Hotel

12.15 After the end of the Plenary Session I, the HoS/G who wish to attend the Friday Prayer will be guided by protocol officers to the Golden Ball Room, Hilton Hotel, through the underpass tunnel connecting JCC and Hilton Hotel.

For those HoS/G who do not attend the Friday Prayer will be ushered to the holding room by protocol officers (or to bilateral meeting room).

12.45 After the Friday Prayer, the HoS/G and Ministers will proceed from the Golden Ball Room or the holding room to the Assembly Hall 2, JCC for Lunch.

Lunch for delegates is served at the Mezzanine, JCC.

- Dinner at State Palace

19.30 HoS/G and spouses staying at the Hilton Hotel will be assisted by their respective LOs and protocol officers to board the provided and depart to the State Palace. HoS/G and spouses staying at other hotels will also depart to State Palace by buses.

19.50 HoS/G and spouses arrive at State Palace and are greeted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the First Lady. HoS/G and spouses proceed to the holding room.

Ministers and other invitees proceed to their seats ushered by the protocol officers.

19.58 HoS/G and spouses led by the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the First Lady proceed to the Main Hall for Dinner (ushered by the Head of State Protocol).

Transportation to the City of Bandung To attend the Commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of the Asian-African Conference 1955, at Gedung Merdeka, Bandung, on 24 April 2005, all Heads of State/Government and other heads of delegation will be transported by aircrafts provided by the Indonesian Government.

Hospitality and transportation to and from Bandung will be provided to each delegation with the following format: - for Heads of State/Government: - HoS/G, Spouse, Foreign Minister, Indonesian ADC, Foreign ADC and Foreign Security Officer - for Special Envoys (Ministerial Level): - Special Envoy and Indonesian Security Officer. - All SOM Leaders will be transported to Bandung by special train.

c. Meals and Dietary Requirements Meals will be provided in accordance with the programme of the Asian-African Summit. The venue and attendance to the meals will also be indicated in the Programme. Dinners, as indicated in the programme, will be extended by invitation.

Participating countries are requested to inform the Organizing Committee of the dietary restriction of their Heads of State/Government, the accompanying Ministers and their spouses, (see Appendices 2 and 3.)

d. Dress Code The dress code for all meetings will be Lounge Suit, unless otherwise indicated.

Invitations

Invitations for all delegates to the Dinner on 22 April 2005, hosted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia and to the Luncheon on 24 April 2005, co- hosted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Governor of the Province of West Java will be distributed in due course.

Arrangements on Arrival and Departure

a. Visa Free of charge visa on arrival facility is provided at the airports (Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma International Airports). Each delegation can apply for entry visa through Indonesia's overseas missions in their respective country. b. Arrival and Departure VIP facilities will be accorded to the Heads of State/Government, Ministers and SOM Leaders on arrival and departure. Other delegates will have to use normal entry and exit channels of the airport. A special lane and a hospitality desk for delegates will be provided at the airport.

Airport Facilities The Organizing Committee will also provide airport facilities requirements for delegations travelling by private or chartered aircraft. On 24 April 2005, after attending the Commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of the Asian-African Conference 1955 in Bandung, the HoS/G and delegates are suggested to return to their hotels in Jakarta before leaving to their own countries due to practical matters. d. Baggage and Immigration Handling Embassies are requested to assist their respective delegates' entry, custom clearance and handling of baggage in cooperation with Indonesian officials. Baggage identification tag will be distributed in advance through the Embassies of the participating countries in Jakarta for easy identification and priority clearance. "Confefence'3ecretariat

Interpretation Facilities

All meetings will be conducted in English. Simultaneous interpretation facilities will be available during the Summit. Interpreters would be provided for English, French and Arabic. Participating countries are advised to indicate their requirements for interpretation facilities well in advance.

Registration and Accreditation

The Heads of State/Government, Special Envoys and Foreign Ministers will be provided with special identification pins.

All delegates, interpreter personnel, supporting staff and security staff are requested to complete the List of Delegates Form (Appendix 1), the Accreditation Profiles Form (Appendices 2, 3 and 4), and the Registration Form (Appendix 5) and to submit the completed forms to the Organizing Committee not later than 8 April 2005, with a copy to the respective Indonesian Embassy in their capital. Identification passes will be issued for all delegates, interpreter personnel, supporting staff and security staff. ID passes must be worn at all time within the area of Jakarta Convention Centre. Liaison Officers

A Liaison Officer (LO) will be assigned to each Head of State/Government and Spouse, as well as to one accompanying Minister. The embassies of participating countries are requested to provide the Organizing Committee with names of their contact persons in charge of coordinating the Asian African Summit.

Security Arrangements

An ADC and a Security Officer will be assigned to each Head of State/Government. A Security Officer will also be assigned to each Foreign Minister. Security Officers will be provided at all meeting venues, designated hotels, and spouses' programme activities.

Foreign security officers carrying firearms into Indonesia are required to obtain prior authorization and to complete the Personnel and Firearms Clearance Form (Appendix 6) for submission to the Organizing Committee not later than 8 April 2005. Only 3 weapons from each country are allowed for entrance (maximum 10 bullets for each weapon). Firearms are strictly prohibited in the secured Summit venue area.

For security consideration, delegations are advised to keep their respective Personal Security and Liaison Officers informed of the movements of their VIPs should they decide to have other programs. Foreign journalists covering the Summit and related events must obtain a journalist visa issued by the respective Indonesian Embassy in their capitals or at the nearest Indonesia Embassy. Only accredited media representatives will be allowed to cover official functions.

Jakarta, the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia, is a special territory enjoying the status of a province, consisting of Greater Jakarta, covering an area 637.44 square km. Located on the northern coast of West Jawa, it is the center of government, commerce and industry and has an extensive communications network with the rest of the country and the outside world.

PLACES OF INTEREST

1. The National Movement (Monas) Offers a bird's eye view of the city. It is a monument built to represent the people's determination to achieve freedom as expressed in the Proclamation of Independence in August 1945. The 137m tall marble is topped with a flame coated with 35 kg of gold. Its basement houses a historical museum and a hall for meditations.

2. Indonesian in Miniature Park Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, portrays the variety of cultures found within the Indonesian archipelago. It has a bird park, a fauna museum and its own orchid garden in which hundreds of Indonesian orchid varieties are grown. Also of special interest here is the Museum Indonesia, which houses arts and crafts and traditional customs from different regions of the country.

3. National Museum Popularly known as Gedung Gajah (elephant building). Established in 1778, under the auspices of Batavia Association of Arts and Sciences, it offers historical, pre-historical, archeological and ethnological aspects of Indonesia through its extensive collection of artifacts and relics which dates back as far as the Stone Age.

4. Fatahilah Museum It provides the historical background of Jakarta through the displays of old maps and antiquities including furnitures and porcelains used by Dutch rulers of Batavia, plus a Portuguese canon which stands across the cobblestone square. 5. Sunda Kelapa Better known as Pasar Ikan (fish market), it is located at the end of the River. It was formerly the harbor town of Sunda Kelapa where the Portuguese traded with the Hindu Kingdom of Pajajaran in the early 1 6th century.

Shopping is a delightful experience in Jakarta. Most hotels use 220 - 240 cycle volts electricity, bathroom shaver plugs usually have transformer switch. We suggest taking an adaptor for your appliance.

Tipping is not encouraged in most hotels and restaurants if a 10% service charge is already included.
