USS Aarushi Charities Operation Paperback Pink Slipper Project Sub for Santa Some Goings On

Please forgive me for being late. It’s been a year since my hubby went on hospice and September and October were months that I thought I’d loose him, so this year the memories came back and I wasn’t expecting the resulting emotions. In the event you’ve been looking for the ISS, if the sightings have been in the wee hours of the morning I haven’t posted them on Facebook, however, if you are an early riser and would like the times let me know.

Monthly To the left is a photo of Maximus, the newest addition to the Activities crew of the Aarushi. Alyssa Clawson has brought her Goldendoodle into our home and I fear he’ll grow up to be a shetland pony. We started out hot but we’ve dropped off on our donations to the Pink Slipper Project. Presently we have one “pet Pink Slipper donation cozy” to donate. Shelters are more frequently accepting women’s pets into the shelters because women fear if they leave the abusive home their pet will suffer the wrath. Thus, small doggie and kitty blankets are needed for their little Spot the ISS http:// bodies to have some cushion on the floor. Continue with spotthestation.nasa.gov your donations of time, talents, and materials, please.

W’ed love for you to pick up the pace with your photos too. Remember they don’t have to be from the scavenger list, the list is just a suggestion in the event you can’t think of Monthly Photo anything to take a photo of. Scavenger Hunt Thank you all for what you’ve done, and will do. Your’e great!

Crewm^n Recruit R^htik^e h^d finished her interview with Security Chief Col. I^n R^l ^nd he w^s s^tisfied th^t she w^s who she s^id she w^s ^nd w^s where she s^id she w^s from. But she just kept t^lking. “@s ^ bot^nist I w^s he^vily influenced by Kiko B^shir. The work th^t she did on B^jor w^s truly groundbre^king, not ^t the time but ^s further study w^s given to her work..”

“B^shir>” I^n lifted his f^ce from his d^t^ p^d to meet her eyes. “In my timeline, Kiko w^sn’t m^rried to B^shir. So you’ve come from ^n ^ltern^tive timeline,” he p^used ^nd looked ^round the room for inspir^tion, but none w^s coming, “or m^ybe this one but we don’t know wh^t’s going to h^ppen with Kiko. I’m ^fr^id I'm going to h^ve to stop you. We re^lly c^n't h^ve you influencing our work here with inform^tion from your future.”

“But,” R^htik^e looked ^lmost like ^ hurt child, “you're influencing this entire time line by being here. I’m sure I influenced the time line when I went b^ck ^nd met @dmir^l @rcher. I h^ve so much to tell you ^bout you ^nd your ship. Your missions were required re^ding ^t the ^c^demy. Ple^se, ple^se!”

He stood ^nd turned his b^ck to her, took ^ few p^ces, smiled so th^t she would’t see, then turned ^nd w^lked b^ck to his desk to f^ce her ^g^in.”We re^lly ^re trying our best to not cont^min^te this timeline ^nymore th^n our ^ccident^l ^rriv^l here h^s ^lre^dy done.” I^n t^pped his stylist on his desk, trying to think of the next thing to s^y. @ctu^lly, he thought of ^ lot of things to s^y, but w^s trying to find something ^ppropri^te.

“But there's so much to tell you.” R^htik^e broke the silence, ^ll ten seconds worth. Putting forth a change to our bi-laws.

If you are a member of SFI and the USS Aarushi there’s an updated bi-laws which you can find on our web site, along with a points sheet for promotions. https://ussaarushi.wordpress.com/documents/

Balboa Beach Photo by Rachel Turnbow Kieran Crewman Recruit Rahtikae, Science, Botany (Rachel Turnbow Kieran) In case you missed this last month, please read.

Rahtikae born 2485, attended SFA starting at the age of 15, a very bright 15, but at the age of 17 she had to drop out do to the health of her Great Aunt who had raised her. She could have graduated near the top of her class had she finished. Now, rather than going into space as an officer, she is a Crewman Recruit, a very bright Crewman with great potential. She was onboard the USS Excalibur - B., a ship that was to monitor the neutral zone. A discovery was made of a Stargate and several of the crew, Rahtikae included, were sent through to evaluate the M-Class planet’s flora and fauna. While returning through the Stargate the Excalibur was fired upon by at the same time that Rahtikae, the last of the away team was to step through the gate. This action on the part of the Romulans changed Rahtikae’s future. She went to the past where she was found by Admiral Archer, placed on a starship that was going to visit the same Stargate near the neutral zone. The gate was dialed and the Romulans attacked again in this time period. This time she finds herself running through to avoid being fodder for the Romulans, entering the bridge of the USS Aarushi.

Balboa Beach Photo by Rachel Turnbow Kieran I^n r^ised his h^nd, “Let’s put th^t ^side for now. Perh^ps we will revisit the issue ^t ^ future point in time.” Th^t w^s ^ppropri^te. “We’ll let @dmir^l T’Peir^ review the m^teri^l you’ve provided ^nd let her m^ke the comm^nd decision, ^lright by you>” Ple^se let her s^y yes.

“@lright, just let me know wh^t I c^n do ^nd when. Do you think, ^ll things considered, th^t @dmir^l H^rrison will ^ssigned me to your ship> @fter ^ll, you s^id it would seem re^son^ble.” R^htik^e h^d the most winning smile, she knew it ^nd she used it.

“You're right on th^t p^rt.” @ll the w^yw^rd time tr^velers ^re ^ssigned here, he thought. “Our Chief of Science, V^shi, is who you will report to. Until your ship’s ^ssignment comes through you’ll be working in the bot^ny dep^rtment. R@DM Quintess^ is our first officer ^nd she will see you to tempor^ry guest qu^rters. Should you be ^ssigned to the @^rushi we’ll get you ^ssigned perme^nt qu^rters.” Oh my gosh, she’ll either be top notch or drive us cr^zy. M^ybe both. Her IQ puts her in the s^me le^gue ^s the sm^rtest beings on the ship. M^ybe she c^n use th^t intelligence to help solve ^ murder. *************** Lt. CMDR Connie Smith, Ensign Sir, ^nd CRR Len^r^ were ^ll in sick b^y surrounding the st^sis bed holding the ^lien being th^t h^d been found de^d on the bridge.

“I c^n’t think of ^ny re^son why, of ^ll species, this would be the one th^t l^nded in our l^ps.” Connie w^s notice^bly sh^ken by wh^t h^d h^ppened. She knew th^t those on bo^rd th^t h^dn’t h^d to de^l with this before would de^l better th^n she would. She even thought ^bout prescribing herself something to c^lm her, like going for ^ drink. Connie couldn’t ^nd she knew it.

“If it’s ^ny consol^tion,” Len^r^ spoke, “you weren’t there when we ^ll got blinked from the g^te room to the bridge. @nd you,” she looked ^t Sir, “didn’t h^ve to kneel down beside this thing, which by the w^y, smells like it’s been de^d more th^n ^ few d^ys.” She w^ved her h^nd in front of her f^ce indic^ting w^ving ^w^y the stench. Th^t brought ^ smile to their f^ces, ^nd broke the tension. “You’re welcome the both of you.” Sir shook his he^d in wonder ^bout how Len^r^ ^lw^ys m^n^ged to lighten the emotion^l lo^d. “Well, this won't get ^nything but more ripe when we get it out of st^sis, so sh^ll we do the honors ^nd get busy. The @dmir^l will w^nt our report ^nd on the double. M^sks on.” Connie t^pped the controls to vent the ^ir ^round the st^sis bed, then opened it up. E^ch member took ^n ^re^ of study ^nd beg^n. Connie worked on dissection of the outer shell while Sir took s^mples for study. Len^r^ studied the DN@ to find out where in p^rticul^r this Tholi^n c^me from. When Connie opened up the ouster c^sing ^ bl^ckish subst^nce oozed out, yuck w^s her first thought, but th^t w^sn’t very medic^l so she didn’t ^dd th^t to her verb^l report. ***********************

“Bright orbs of light, ^ de^d Tholi^n, ^ new Bet^zoid on bo^rd, the Doctor ^nd his T^rdis,” T’Peir^ w^s discussing with her first officer, “^nd ^ll of this in such short order.” She looked ^t Quintess^, “I don’t know how you de^l with ^ll your knowledge ^nd not get he^d^ches.”

“Wh^t m^kes you think I don’t get he^d^ches> The crew, ^nd you, will de^l very well with this. @ ch^llenge is ^ ch^llenge, ^nd we didn’t get through the ^c^demy without the ^bility to rise to the occ^sion.” “You went to the ^c^demy>”

“Did you truly think….”

Red ^lert kl^xons broke up the convers^tion. T’Peir^ re^ched for the communic^tions p^nel set into the w^ll to t^lk to the bridge. “Someone tell me wh^t’s going on.”

“Sir, six Tholin ships just dropped out of w^rp on our st^rbo^rd side, they’re h^iling us.” Lt. P^lmer w^s in the c^pt^ins ch^ir this shift.

“I’ll be right there.” she hit button ^nd she ^nd Quintess^ he^ded tow^rds the bridge. ***********************

T’Peir^ entered the bridge ^nd Lt. P^lmer m^de ^ smooth exit from the c^pt^in’s se^t ^nd b^ck to the communic^tions

“Report.” T’Peir^ s^t down ^nd st^red ^t the view screen.

“Sir, Tholi^n’s ^re dem^nding the rem^ins of their crewm^n returned ^t once.” P^lmer spoke ^s she gr^cefully slid into her se^t ^t her communic^tions st^tion.

“I would love to. How did they find out>” T’Peir^ flipped ^ switch on the ^rmrest of her ch^ir. “Sick b^y, Lt. Smith, report.”

“@dmir^l, we’ve finished our work here, ^nd you wont believe it unless you see it. Pl^ce us on screen.”

“Th^t doesn’t m^tter right now. The Tholi^ns ^re here ^nd they’re dem^nding the body ^t once. C^n we do th^t>”

“If we h^d one then yes, sir.”

“Lt. P^lmer, h^il the Tholi^n ship. @dvise them we’re working on it.” She took ^ bre^th. “Pl^ce Lt. Smith on screen.”

“Sir, we don’t h^ve ^ Tholi^n. Ple^se t^ke ^ look for yourself so you c^n ^dvise the Tholi^n c^pt^in wh^t you’ve seen with your own eyes.” Then Connie switched the view to the ex^m t^ble where the Tholi^n exoskeleton w^s l^id open ^nd within the multi ^ppend^ges of the c^sing l^y the dece^sed. The body of ^ t^ll, thin @ndori^n wom^n. Be^utiful! Be^utiful w^s ^n underst^tement. Presently covered in ^ bl^ck oozing subst^nce, but be^utiful.

“If I w^sn’t sure you were st^nding right here ^nd h^d vowed to not pull stunts like this,” T’Peir^ whispered to Quintess^, “I’d bl^me this on you.”

“Not me, I didn’t do it, sir.” Quintess^ w^nted to smile ^t the thought, but knew th^t this w^s too serious. Inste^d she just stood there, h^nds behind her b^ck, eyes extr^ wide open.

“P^lmer, h^il the Tholi^n ship, ^g^in.”

“@udio only sir.” “Put it on spe^ker.”

“This is the C^pt^in of the Tholi^n ship Ben’q Tholis. You will return our brother.”

“How did you even find out, ^nd so quickly>” T’Peir^ fin^lly s^t down, still st^ring ^t the screen ^nd the de^d @ndori^n.

“Those ^re not m^tters th^t concern you. Return our f^llen brother or we will destroy you.” ************************** The Tholi^n ship’s comm^nder, Brisk^n^, cut communic^tions with the Feder^tion ship. The biped^l cre^tures were offensive ^nd should never h^ve come to this ^re^ of sp^ce. The Feder^tion w^nted exp^nsion, going out of their w^y to gre^t other new sp^ce f^ring species. Brisk^n^ looked ^round the bridge of her ship, the meni^ls kept their ^ttention where it belonged ^nd g^ve no heed to their superior, which w^s ^s it should be.

“H^il them ^g^in.” T’Peir^ needed to prevent ^n ^ll out w^r with the Tholi^ns over some kind of egregious error. Some terrible trick pl^yed on the USS @^rushi ^nd its crew.

“No response, sir.”

“Send ^ mess^ge ^nyw^y. Tell them we only h^ve the outer shell, there’s no Tholi^n inside.”

“They’re sc^nning us, sir. Sc^nning for life signs. Should we stop them>” Ensign Cl^wson didn’t look up from her st^tion.

“No, ^s long ^s they ^re only sc^nning life signs, let them.” T’Peir^ flipped ^ switch ^nd c^lled engineering. “Beckstrom, everything in engineering 100%>” Beckstrom replied with confidence th^t even though the ship h^d been inv^ded by wh^t he thought were Sp^ce @ngles, engineering w^s b^ttle re^dy. @s quickly ^s the Tholi^ns ^rrived, they left. @ll six ships left together ^s if they were linked.

“@nd not so much ^s ^ sorry.” Quintess^ let ^ sigh of relief esc^pe ^s she spoke.

“They must h^ve ^ tr^cker in the outer suit. The suit itself is ^ work of genius. The Tholi^n pl^net is hotter th^n h^des ^nd the gr^vity is enough to kill ^ hum^n.” Lt. Connie spoke, still in sick b^y, still keeping gu^rd over the suit ^nd its contents. We h^ve ^ murder, Sp^ce @ngles, Tholi^n ships, ^ de^d @ndori^n, ^nd we still need to get Col. R^l to R^l 1 ^nd find out wh^t h^ppened to him there. Perh^ps the Doctor will be ^ble to ^ssist Col. R^l while we try to sort through the rest. Divide ^nd conquer. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
