This is the most valuable district level publication brought out by the Census Organisation on behalf of each State Government I Union Territory administration. It inter alia provides datal information on some of the basic demographic and sOCio-f>Domic characteristics and on the availability of certain important civic amenities Ifacilities in each village and town of the respective districts.

In 1941 they were published in U. P. under the title "District Census Statistics" with a separate volume for each district. In the 1951 census, when the tabulation has been more elaborate than ever in view of the require .... ments of the country, the district .. wise volume has been expanded into a "District Census Handbook", which now contains the District Census Tables (furnishing data with break .. up for census tracts within the district), the District Index of Non .. agricultural Occupations, agricultural statistics from 1901.102 to 195°"51 and other miscellaneous statistics in addition to the usual village population statistics. The village population statistics also are given in an elaborate form giving the division of the population among eight livelihood classes and other details. 2. It may be added here that a separate set of district .. wise volumes giving only population figures of rural areas by villages and of urban areas by wards and mohallas and entitled "District Population Statistics" has already been published. This separate series was necessitated by the urgent requirements of the U. P. Government for elections to local bodies. 3. The number of District Census Handbooks printed so far is fou~teen. Special arrangements for speeding up the printing have now been made and it is hoped thafthe remaining Handbooks will be pri.nted before the end of 1955. RAJESHW ARI PRASAD. Also find out the discriminatory behavior of the upper caste people towards lower caste people according to their level of social, political, cultural and economic perception. This study conducted in Gora village of Lalitpur district, Uttar Pradesh. Bundelkhand is known as a drought prone area, but this region is also famous for its folklores. Despite the problems such as poverty, economic deprivation, hunger; people of this region celebrate each and every festival with proper tradition with enthusiasm. The data, in this paper, is presented using both tables and graphs for easy comprehension. The study reveals that the Gora village is very poor thus presenting a very different and unique picture of the research. Keywords: Ethnography, Caste, Discrimination. 1. INTRODUCTION In India, from the early period caste, poverty and religiosity are the three important factors which played an important role in affecting the live of the people of this nation and also determining the roles and functions of each Indians. Here, Dalits who represent one fifth of its population have been suffering socially and economically due to the existing caste system. They are considered and treated as untouchables and this condition itself reflects their position in the caste hierarchy system.

Remote sensing and GIS technique provide an advance & better information to extract the LST of Lalitpur district Uttar Pradesh. The Landsat-5 and Landsat-8 OLI+TIRS (Optical Level Imager +Thermal Infrared Sensor) data (2009-18) was used to retrieve Land surface temperature (LST) of Lalitpur district. A comparative analysis of LST was done for March 2009 and 2018.By this analysis it was observed that mean LST has been increased from 2009 and 2018. This study will helpful to understand the impact of global warming on land surface and policy makers to prepare the policies related to this. Rapid industrialization and urbanization leads to decrease in natural land cover area into built up area, which is one of the major problems of increase in LST and climatic changes.
