Introduction to Wax Play
Introduction to Wax Play July 2020 Krome ONYX Introduction Wax play, a form of temperature play, incorporates melting wax of various types to create slight stinging sensations inducing excitement or arousal. In this introduction we will cover tips and techniques for beginners. In addition, we will discuss materials needed and what should be done before, during and after the play session. Materials The safest wax products to use are made of soy and paraffin or a mixture of the two. Paraffin and soy melt at lower temperatures and are least likely to burn your submissive during play. Specific wax is needed during play and should be chosen in its purest form. Before purchasing, read the ingredients to ensure your wax does not have any additives and perfumes. Avoid wax that is dyed with unnatural ingredients, scented, look metallic and products containing beeswax. Consider the allergies of the submissive, a reaction due to negligence will ruin the experience. Typically the decorative candles you have in your home are not the proper type to use for wax play. When selecting a candle, the easiest to master is the classic stick. The surface area of the wax is wide enough to produce safe slow and steady drips. Not to be confused with tapered candles which have a smaller surface area for the wax to pool. Tapered candles elevate the temperature of wax point of contact to the body and can be unsafe for beginners. Pillars and votives are another great option for pooling and allow for a more concentrated pour. Candles that are enclosed in glass or cups should be avoided by beginners. -
Escaping from Handcuffs and Zip Ties
Escaping from Handcuffs and Zip Ties Hiatt type 2010 handcuffs. Circa 1990s Dutch police handcuffs Hiatt type 104 "Darby" handcuffs and key. Circa 1950s Handcuffs are restraint devices designed to secure an individual's wrists close together. They comprise two parts, linked together by a chain , a hinge , or rigid bar. Each half has a rotating arm which engages with a ratchet that prevents it from being opened once closed around a person's wrist. Without the key, the handcuffs cannot be removed and so the handcuffed person is unable to move his or her wrists more than a few centimetres/inches apart, making many tasks difficult or impossible. This is usually done to prevent suspected criminals from escaping police custody . There are three main types of contemporary metal handcuffs: chain (cuffs are held together by a short chain), hinged (since hinged handcuffs permit less movement than a chain cuff, they are generally considered to be more secure), and rigid solid bar handcuffs. While bulkier to carry, rigid handcuffs permit several variations in cuffing. Hiatts Speedcuffs are rigid handcuffs used by most police forces in the United Kingdom. Both rigid and hinged cuffs can be used one-handed to apply pain-compliance/control techniques that are not workable with the chain type of cuff. Various accessories are available to improve the security or increase the rigidity of handcuffs, including boxes that fit over the chain or hinge and can themselves be locked with a padlock . In 1933 the Royal Canadian Mounted Police used a type called "Mitten Handcuffs" to prevent criminals from being able to grab an object like the officer's gun. -

Loving BDSM Checklist
Loving BDSM Checklist We wish we could list every single kinky act and fetish out there, but since almost anything can be made a little kink, it’s impossible to list everything. This, however, should be a good starting point if you’re new. How to use the checklist: ● Print as many copies as you need ● Read each activity ● Choose how you do or might want to interact with the activity: give (G), receive (R), or both (B) ● Write Y or N whether you’ve tried it or not ● Check whether like it, feel “meh” about it (neutral), or dislike it ● For things you haven’t done, write Y or N on whether you’d be willing to try it ● If you know you’re a hard no on an activity, check the hard limit box at the end. ● Use the notes section at the back to write down ideas. items not on the list, things to research, and any topics you want to discuss with your partner. Once you and your partner(s) are done, it’s time to compare notes. Talk about what you love and hate. Research anything you’re unsure about. For anything that’s new to you and you want to try together, consider this your first kinky bucket list. You don’t have to like everything your partner does in order to have kinky fun. You don’t have to be really experienced, either. BDSM and D/s are about growing as individuals and together. This is simply a tool to help you on your path. -
Keeping It Safe- a Sexual and Reproductive Health Guide for Same-Sex-Attracted Women
Keeping It Safe- A sexual and reproductive health guide for same-sex-attracted women ConsentSafer Sex Let’s talk about sex… familyplanning.org.nz Penetration Keeping It Safe- This resource is for women who have sex with women; occasionally, regularly or are just thinking about it. The focus is on cis-women (women who were born with female reproductive systems and genitals), although transmen (or cis-women who have sex with transmen) may also find parts of this resource useful. It aims to provide information to women who have sex with other women, regardless of their sexual identity (e.g. lesbian, queer, bisexual, gay, straight, butch, femme, dyke, or no expressed identity) or how that may change over time. It aims to help us make informed choices about our sexual practices whoever they may be with. It also aims to enable us to be assertive in dealing with health professionals. We acknowledge that same-sex attracted women have a wide range of different sexual experiences and desires. We have based this resource on the premise that the risks of sexually transmissible infections relate to behaviours not sexual orientation or sexual identity. 2 Keeping It Safe Let’s talk about sex… Let’s talk about sex… Communicating about sex is important, whether you are in a long–term monogamous relationship, specialise in a series of one night stands, or are somewhere and anywhere in between. Talking about sex can be embarrassing for many women, but it’s essential in checking out what is safe and comfortable, physically and emotionally. Negotiating our sexual practices can be both empowering and downright sexy. -
Exploring Gender Subversion and Recuperation in Anal Fisting Among Gay Men
Exploring gender subversion and recuperation in anal fisting among gay men Jarred H Martin Department of Psychology, University of Pretoria, South Africa Corresponding author: Jarred H Martin, Department of Psychology, University of Pretoria, Lynnwood Road, Hatfield, Pretoria 0028, South Africa. Email: [email protected] Abstract Anal fisting among gay men, that is, the sexual(ised) and erotic (single or partnered) practice of inserting the hand(s) and/or forearm(s) into the anus and rectum, has historically been framed in medical and medico-forensic case studies as a violent and dangerous sexual practice associated with the contraction of disease, heightened risk of sexual injury, and the possibility of death. In contrast to this, pro-Queer scholars of gender and sexuality have conceptually reframed the act of anal fisting among gay men as a subversive sexual practice which in its discursive and material performances radically transgresses the heteronormative tropes which typically underwrite human sex/uality, especially in ways that render the preferred representations of (gay) sex as ‘vanilla’. By drawing from unstructured individual interviews with a sample of eight (self-identifying) South African gay men who regularly incorporate anal fisting into their sexual relations, this study explores the gendered contradictions which rhetorically circumscribe how these men discursively construct and experience the corpo-erotic practice of anal fisting. In doing so, the findings highlight that while anal fisting among gay men may in fact engender shades of a sexually subversive practice by the way it radically (re)makes the material and erotic possibilities and connections of gay men’s bodies in exceptionally non-normative and perhaps Queer ways; it is, at the same time, also invested with, and reiterative of, discursive repertoires which actively recuperate heteronormative as well as heteromasculinist tropes and gendered power relations that, in some instances, appear femiphobic. -
LYNX: Waxing Philosophic - Temperature Play & Hot Wax
LYNX: Waxing Philosophic - Temperature Play & Hot Wax recon.com/Blog/Article/lynx-waxing-philosophic-temperature-play-hot-wax/2993 from Recon News 24 August 2020 Lynx AKA LeathermanLynx has been involved in Leather/KINK/BDSM as a follower, leader, supporter and champion of education in our community since 2015. In this piece, Lynx AKA member LeathermanLynx shares his insight and experiences from playing with Hot Wax. Earlier today my partner and I went for pedicures -- he has a thing for feet. Towards the second half of my pedicure, the technician asked, "What colour wax do you want?" It caught me off guard, but I realized I had been given a choice of green or orange paraffin wax for the pedicure - I chose orange. I put my feet in the molten orange wax and - DAMN! - it felt so good! I sat there [the massage chair chopping at my back while the wax did its thing to my feet] and I started thinking about Wax Play. Those thoughts led to this piece. In my experience, sometimes limits are not pushed in a BDSM scene. Sometimes, it's just two men, hot for each other, smelling each other's "man-ness." Sometimes, it just so happens to be an 'artistic' experience. That's how I approach playing with hot wax in Temp Play. For me, it's more than dripping wax across a nice ass. It's a chance to "create" something with someone. 1/4 It's pretty fair to say Wax Play is one of the more well-known and widely explored kinks around. -
In the Habit of Being Kinky: Practice and Resistance
IN THE HABIT OF BEING KINKY: PRACTICE AND RESISTANCE IN A BDSM COMMUNITY, TEXAS, USA By MISTY NICOLE LUMINAIS A dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY Department of Anthropology MAY 2012 © Copyright by MISTY NICOLE LUMINAIS, 2012 All Rights Reserved © Copyright by MISTY NICOLE LUMINAIS, 2012 All rights reserved To the Faculty of Washington State University: The members of the Committee appointed to examine the dissertation of MISTY NICOLE LUMINAIS find it satisfactory and recommend that it be accepted. ___________________________________ Nancy P. McKee, Ph.D., Chair ___________________________________ Jeffrey Ehrenreich, Ph.D. ___________________________________ Faith Lutze, Ph.D. ___________________________________ Jeannette Mageo, Ph.D. ii ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I could have not completed this work without the support of the Cactus kinky community, my advisors, steadfast friends, generous employers, and my family. Members of the kinky community welcomed me with all my quirks and were patient with my incessant questions. I will always value their strength and kindness. Members of the kinky community dared me to be fully present as a complete person rather than relying on just being a researcher. They stretched my imagination and did not let my theories go uncontested. Lively debates and embodied practices forced me to consider the many paths to truth. As every anthropologist before me, I have learned about both the universality and particularity of human experience. I am amazed. For the sake of confidentiality, I cannot mention specific people or groups, but I hope they know who they are and how much this has meant to me.
