The house was built as a “hunting box” and was reputedly rented for two hunting seasons by the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The Queen Mother revisited the house in the 1980’s on one of her trips to Northamptonshire. The layout of the house was designed for entertaining with a grand Reception Hall at the heart of the house, a south and east facing Drawing Room and a former Billiards Room, on the second floor, at the head of the main staircase. The house has ample Bedroom accommodation for family and guests.
