Jackson Dalton – Hampton Park Action Jackson a rising star ampton Park has made a huge impact on the 2011 season and, in turn an emerging young star by the name of Jackson Dalton has made just as big Han impact at the Robert Booth Reserve this year. The silky-skilled 17 year-old playmaker has impressed all with his maturity at senior level this season and has earned him a nomination for the 2011 Pakenham Gazette Young Gun award. Known as ‘Dalts’ around the club, Jackson is a Dandenong Stingrays listed player who is still eligible for the under 18s, but has quickly become a valuable and consistent performer on a wing or on-ball in the Redbacks senior side this year. His development years have been spent with Hampton Park and Narre Warren Junior Football Clubs and his list of achievements during that time are impres- sive. They include an under 14 DDJFL best and fairest award together with four club best and fairest gongs with Hampton Park JFC and two junior premierships, Hampton Park Young Gun one as captain. nominee Jackson Dalton has He also played interleague football in every year of his juniors and was a mem- ber of the premiership winning Victorian Metro Under 15s together with the had a huge debut season with Victorian Country Under 16 side in 2010. the Redbacks. Hampton Park coach Clint Evans gave Jackson’s nomination a glowing endorse- ment. “This is Jackson’s first season of senior football but you wouldn’t know that to watch him. His effort is always good but his awareness and ball skills set him apart from most kids his age. He’s a terrific little player,” he said. The admiration is mutual with Jackson naming Clint among the major influences on his football to date along with his father, Redbacks legend Steve, and his cousin Rob Dierickx. When asked his how far he wanted to take his football the answer was short and to the point. “I would love to play AFL,” he said.
