It’s my great pleasure to present the Annual Report of the Department of Physical Education and Sports on behalf of our college. For last several years we have been forming the body of Students’ Sports Council along with Sports Council for smooth working. The Sports Council was constituted under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Principal Dr. B. B. Taywade. The other members of the council were Mr. N. V. Chopde, Dr. M.S. Wankhede, Dr. V.Y Waghale, Dr. P. P. Sonone, Dr. P. D. Hadke, Dr. R. N. Gosavi, Dr. Parag Joshi, Mr. S. S. Gaherwar, Dr. D. N. Khadse, Mr. R. S. Motghare, Mr. D. R. Pathak, Dr. M. R. Tambulkar, Mr. S.M. Shambarkar, Dr. N. H. Kandalkar, Mr. J .V. Jichkar, Mr. A.M. Zanzal, Mr. K. S. Lend, Mr. V. T. Choure, Dr. S. S. Dadhe & Dr. Vandana Ingale. The meetings were held on August 27, 2014, January 2, 2015 & April 9, 2015 to discuss various matters related to the Sports activities during the academic session 2014-15 for smooth functioning. ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED / ORGANISED: a) International Yoga Day: As per HRD ministry, Govt. of India’s guidelines, our department organised International Yoga day on 21 June 2015. All teaching and non teaching staff & students performed in the morning, Suryanamskar, Yogasana & Pranayama on this occussion. National players Rahul Darapure & Prashant Buwade demonastrate the Asanas. Dr. B.B. Taywade Principal gave best wishes for performing Yogasanaon the Performing Yogasana on the occasion of International Yoga Day International Yoga Day. Dr.D.C.Wankhade instructed the importance of the Yogabhyas. b) Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2015: (A special report attached) c) Inter School Gymnastics Championship: Shivaji Gymnastic Club, Dhanwate National College organized Interschool Gymnastics Competition on August 22-23, 2015 which was inaugurated by Mr. Vijay Santan, DSO in the presence of Mr. Sanket, & Dr. B.B. Taywade presided over the function. It was approved by Nagpur District Gymnastics Association. On 23rd August prizes were given to the winners at the hands of Mr. Deepak Barad, Secretary, NDGA, Dr. B. Ramesh , HoD, Gova University, Chetan Mahdik & Dr. B.B. Taywade.

Inaugural function of Interschool Gymnastics Competition Prize winners of Interschool Gymnastics competition 2 d) Panjabrao Deshmukh Premier league cricket 2016:- PDIMTR organized Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Premier League cricket on February 2 to 8, 2016 and we supported the activity whole heartedly by giving the ground and technical support. f) CONDUCTED R.T.M. NAGPUR UNIVERSITY INTER-COLLEGIATE Tournaments 1. Kabaddi Women: R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Kabaddi Women (A-zone) Tournament was conducted on October 13-14, 2015 at college Ground in which 22 teams of various colleges participated in it. It was inaugurated by Dr. P.P. Sonone. On this occasion Dr. M. S. Wankhede, Mr. J.V. Jichakar & Dr. D. C. Wankhade were present. 2. Cricket Men: R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Cricket Tournament was conducted between October 18 to November 15, 2015 at college Ground & 18 teams of various colleges participated in zonal matches. After zonal rounds quarter, semi-final & final matches were played on our ground. 3. Football Men: R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Football B-zone Tournament was conducted between November 2-4, 2015 at college Ground & 21 teams of various colleges participated in zonal matches. It was inaugurated by Mr. D. R. Pathak, supervisor, Junior College, Dr. D. C Wankhade, Mr. J. V. Jichakar were present & Dr.S.S. Dadhe conducted the programme.

RTM Nagpur University Football Tournament Inaugurated by Mr. D. R. Pathak 4. Softball Women: R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Softball Women Tournament was conducted on January 21 & 22, 2016 at college Ground & 14 teams of various colleges participated in it. It was inaugurated by Dr. P.S. Changole. Prize distribution was conducted at the hands of the principal Dr. Sharda Shakya & Dr. Vandana Ingale conducting the programmee. The first place was bagged by A. G.

College, Nagpur and the runner up was M. J. Patel Winner teams with Winning trophy College, Sakoli. Prizes were sponsored by Dr. Vandana Ingale in the Memory of late Anusayabai Meshram & Kisan Meshram. 5. Baseball Men & Women: R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Baseball Men & Women Tournament was conducted on February 10-11, 2016 at college Ground & 14 teams of various colleges participated in it. It was inaugurated by Dr. Dr. P.S. Changole. Prize distribution was conducted at the hands of the Dr. Lalita Punnya & Dr. Vandana Ingale conducting the programme. The first place was bagged by A. G. College, Nagpur in Women section & Sindhu College, Nagpur in men section. Prizes were sponsored by Dr. Vandana Ingale in the Memory of late Winner teams with prizes 3

i) CONDUCTED DISTRICT SPORTS OFFICE TOURNAMENT - Dodge-ball Tournament: Nagpur District level DSO Dodge-ball U/19 tournament was conducted on August 21 to 22, 2015. Tournament was inaugurated by Prin. B. B. Taywade, President Nagpur District Dodge-Ball Association & other staff members were present. Total 30 Boys & Girls teams of various Schools from Nagpur District participated in it. Netball Tournament: Nagpur District level DSO Dodge-ball U/19 tournament was conducted October 15-16, 2015. Total 30 Boys & Girls teams of various Schools from Nagpur District participated in it. j) Annual Sports Meet: On the 118th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh, the founder of Shri. Shivaji Education Society, Amravati, our department organized the Inter-class Volleyball, Basketball, Tag of war, Yogasana and Athletics (100 mtr. Running, Long Jump, & Shot-put) competitions on December 25 & 26, 2015. Prize distribution took place on December 27. Dr. B. B.

Taywade, Principal presided over the function and Mr. Students performing Tag of war event in Annual Savarkar was chief guest on this occasion. Sports meet n) Medical Examination & Physical Efficiency Test: As per University Ordinance every year our Department conducts the Medical Examination & Physical Efficiency Test for the college Students (under graduate). The medical examination was held on January 8-13, 2016 under medical officer Dr. Avinash Gawande, Dr. Anil Chiwhane & Dr. Darshana Deshmukh. Physical efficiency test took place during March 1-3, 2016. For these activities externals were Prof. R. Y. Deshmukh. This year the same activity took place. The statistical reports of this test were submitted to the R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur. FACILITIES PROVIDED: We provide following facilities to students, staff and local people: a) Modern Fitness Centre: For college students & Sports Persons, college renovated the gymnasium and Modern Fitness Centre. In this Centre new advance fitness equipment like motorize trade mile, electronic cycle, massager & other fitness equipment’s are available. Monthly 125 students are benefited by the Gym in average. Monthly income is about Rs/ 35000/-

Gymnastics & Basket ball Coaching Camp

Gymnastics – We train students and other members of the society throughout the year. Mr. Sanket & Mr. Mayuresh National players coach the beneficiaries. d) Summer Coaching Camp: Softball, Basketball, Football & Sepak-takraw: Every year we organize the summer coaching camp of different games for the school & college students to create among them awareness of sports developing the skill & advance Coaching Camp inauguration knowledge of games. This year the coaching camp was held between April 15 to May 15, 2015 & was inaugurated by Dr. B.B. Taywade, & Vice Principal of Shivaji Science College was present on the occasion. Prof. Devendra Wankhade conducted the programme & Dr. Subhash Dadhe proposed a vote of thanks. The expert coaches gave the advance coaching to the students. We invited reputed coaches of respective games to train ours students Football coaching was given under Mr. Ramesh Mandal, and Prof. Jayant Jichkar, Yoga under Prof. Devendra Wankhade, Softball & Sepak-takrao under Dr. Subhash Dadhe, Mr. Chetan Mahadik, Amar Khandare & Mr. Pamir Shahare. 75 students from various Schools & Colleges participated & got benefited from this camp. Camp was concluded on 15th May 2015. All the participants were given certificates and also provided with facilities during the camp period. d) We provide training for various games equipment’s for the various games, Uniforms & Shoes, concession for outstation tournament, refreshment and daily allowances during tournaments etc. University Blazer: College sheared the cost of blazer for per player who is selected for the first time in any game in the University team . PARTICIPATION: College teams participated in University and other intercollegiate tournaments: 5 a) Nagpur University Intercollegiate tournament: Total 25 Men & 15 Women College teams participated in University tournament i.e. Athletics, Ball-Badminton, Cross-Country, Half Marathon, Handball, Netball, Softball, Baseball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Yogasana, Judo, Wrestling (Men and Women) Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Chess, Table Tennis, Rifle Shooting, Power-Lifting and Swimming in Men section. b) Other Tournament: Our college teams participated in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2015- Kabaddi, Volleyball (Men & Women), Basketball, Football, and Cricket (Men). Krik-Mania Cricket-2015-16, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law Inter-collegiate Cricket Tournament, PDCPL etc. ACHIEVEMENTS: We put efforts to train our players at least one month before the respective games & sports so that they may be well trained to win a name & fame for themselves as well as for college. This is our pride privilege that Yogasana - Men team emerged championship in RTM Nagpur University Tournaments. We won the Basketball, Kabaddi-W & Kho-Kho-W championship in Shivaji Olympiad, Runners up in University Basketball, Softball, Kho-Kho, Korfball & Baseball Women etc.

1. Yogasana: Our College men team got the Championship consecutively fifth year in RTM Nagpur University Inter-collegiate Yogasana Competition for fifth time. Mr. Rahul Darapurkar, Mr. Rahul Begde, Mr. Ankit Sahu Secured 1st, 2nd & 4th place respectively & were selected in Nagpur Uni. Team for the All India Yogasana Competition held at Jind, Hariyana. Mr. Rahul Darapurkar, Mr. Rahul Begde, Mr. Ankit Sahu, Mr. Prashant Buwade, Subodh Taywade, Atish Rangari, Mr. Sagar College Yogasana Men team received winner trophy Kawde were the members of men team. All

players showed skills and good performance College Yogasana Men team Champion in University in the competition. 2. Basketball Men: Our College team got the Championship in Shivaji Olympiad 2015 organized by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati and the team runners up in R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Basketball Tournament on October 14-16, 2015 at University Ground & third place in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2015. The team members were Akshay A. Narnaware, Mayur V. Telange, Pranay S. Bhagat, Abhishekh K. Shrivastao, Pralhad H. Lillare, Sagar P. Vaishnav, Prajwal. Channe, Shubham A. Lanjewar, Dhanraj C. Dhawas, Yogesh K. Bhagat, Aditya K. Chafle & Sangarsh K. Khonde. 3. Kho-Kho Men: Our Kho-Kho team runners up in R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Kho-Kho Tournament on October 14-16, 2015 at University Ground & Shivaji Olympiad 2015 organized by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati. Kabaddi Women: Our College team got the Championship in Shivaji Olympiad 2015 organized by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati and third place in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2015. The team members were Arti A. Annpure, Kajal B. Doifode, Monali D. Dhole, Minakshi L. Raut, Rajshri N. Zade, Ashwarya D. Ganar, Natasha D. Durve, Payal D. Mankar, Priya S. Nagale & Suvarna R. Mattre. 5. Baseball Women: Our Baseball Women team runners up in R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate softball Tournament on February 10-11, 2016 at college Ground. Varsha D. Kakde, Rutuja G. Itankar. 6. Softball Men:: Our softball Men team Third place in R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate softball Tournament on February 15-16, 2015 at J. B. Science College, Wardha. The team members were Himanshu B. Bhide, Akshay A. Joshi, Pranay P. Patil, Ankush G. Gangasagar, Bhaskar R. Awathe, Suraj M. Satpute, Vinay V. Dongare, Mohseen S. Sheikh, Subhash G. Mandve, Krunal P. Sakharwade, Nishant G. Nikode,Sudanshu Rajesh Srivas, R Anirudha Shridharao, Ronak K. Patel & Pratik S. Bajad Our college Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Netball, Badminton, Table-tennis, Ball-badminton, Kabaddi, Chess, Wrestling, Power lifting, Boxing, Judo, Swimming, teams participated in various tournaments and performed very well. Some of the players were selected for Interuniversity, State & National competitions. JUNIOR COLLEGE: Our Junior college teams participated in the various inter-collegiate tournaments i.e. Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Handball, Dodge ball, Softball, Badminton, Cricket, Baseball, Football, Malkhamb, Wrestling, Taykan-do, Fencing, Marshal Art and Athletics. In this tournament the following teams performed very well. 1. Cricket: Our Boys Cricket team was Runners up in District level U/19 C K Naidu Cricket tournament organized by DSO Nagpur.. 2. Netball: Our College girls Netball team participated & was winner in District Level Tournament. And participated in Divisional level tournament held at Nagpur. 3. Kho-Kho girls: Our Kho-Kho team got the Championship in Shivaji Olympiad 2015 organized by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati. 4. Athletics: Our team participated in DSO district level Athletics Tournament & performed very well. FELICITATION: On the Occasion of College teacher felicitation programme all the prize winners in the sport activities for the session 2015-16, who represented the Inter University, National, State, Ranji Competitions & secured positions in University Tournament, were felicitated and presented with the track-suits, mementoes & certificates on prize Distribution ceremony held on 2016. On this occasion Prin. Dr. B. B. Taywade presided over the function. 7
