Benjamin Lee Tenore di Grazia

Benjamin Lee’s sweet timbre and high-arching technical comfort make him the perfect artist for the Tenore do Grazia repertoire.

In the 2018/19 season, Mr. Lee joins Theater Magdeburg for three productions, performing Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Rodrigo in Otello, and 2. Nazarene in Salome. He made his debut with the company last summer as Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Last season he also appeared as Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola with Queen City , Lurcanio in Ariodante, and the tenor solo in Bach’s Mass in B Minor with College-Conservatory of Music. In a workshop jointly sponsored by CCM, Cincinnati Opera, and the Canadian Opera Company, he sang Antinous in acclaimed songwriter Rufus Wainwright’s opera-in-progress Hadrian. In 2016/17, he made his debut with Opera Theatre of St. Louis as Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos, and joined Cincinnati Opera in their production of Robert Xavier Rodríguez’s Frida as Alejandro and Leon Trotsky, as well as The Tenor in Missy Mazzoli’s Song from the Uproar.
