. ",' , <, &1 ilCJri~d ', . '. .' " ...... ,: . , ,. ,-, .. : ...... ,.' .. '. . '. .. '. Let's light up this m,ountain with gold Wouldn't it be lovely to turn this town gold? Looking back on Aspenfest weekend, we have one small regret. In the midst of all the festivities, we had to think how beautiful this little resort "Would be if we 00 could extend the golden aspen trail on doWn through to) the tOWl1. Once in awhile the golden aspens, the stars '--' of this autuf11n show, get left out in the hustle and bustle of the big event. Aspenfest '91 was really great, with the biggest pa rade, the most people and just about the best time anybody's ever had on this beautiful mountain. To make the most of the yearly aspen festival, visitors have to take a long drive up the mountain where the ---.__ h •.• golden spectacle can be viewed. The short-lived -- beauty of golden aspens is certainly well worth the drive, but not everybody has time to take in all the festivities and take the aspen viewing drive, too. If every property owner would plant one or more aspens on their property that would be a good start. VoJe understand grants and special planting funds are available for public arEtas, too. So, let's turn the town gold with a massive aspen planting, and let's do it before next year and welcome Aspenfest visitors with a spectacular golden village.
