Detroit Tigers Notes 4The Tigers improve to 31-11 when scoring first this season... the club also picks up just its 16th win in 49 games when scoring four runs or less. 4Anibal Sanchez (7.0 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 SO, 0 BB) improves to 3-0 with a 2.18 ERA (8 ER in 33.1 IP) in six road starts this season. 4Sanchez has never allowed more than one run in seven career starts against the Royals... he has posted a 5-2 career mark against KC with a 1.08 ERA (6 ER in 50.1 IP), which is lowest among all active with at least five starts vs. Kansas City. 4Sanchez is now 2-2 in four career starts at Kauffman Stadium where he has allowed just four earned runs over 27.0 innings of work. 4Joba Chamberlain pitched a scoreless eighth inning to earn his American League-leading 17th hold of the season ( has 16). 4Joe Nathan worked out of a jam to record his 19th save in 24 chances this season... he ranks 5th in the American League in saves. 4Ian Kinsler singled home the game’s first run and stole his 10th base of the season two batters later...
