The restaurant, 1550 W. Valley Blvd., opened Wednesday, Jan. 8. The eatery is in a new center built on the site of a former used car lot on the southeast corner of Valley Boulevard and Pepper Avenue. Dining room hours are 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, with the drive-thru open from 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday. The center is also home to a Starbucks, and will eventually house a Popeyes as well. Subless A south Ontario Jimmy John’s has closed, according to reader Scott, who emailed us to let us know about the closure. The restaurant, at 2550 S. Vineyard Ave., Suite A, was a curiosity in that the location — a former Dairy Queen — was one of the few, if not the only one, in the region to feature a drive-thru. It appears to have closed in October. 2 Timm strikes again Reader Timm has struck again. Timm, who let us know that the longtime Ontario TGI Fridays was closing and that the Eastvale Pick Up Stix had closed, has driven yet another restaurant out of business. Scratch that. What I meant to say is that Timm has discovered that another restaurant favorite — JoJo’s Pizza Kitchen at 6237 Pats Ranch Road, Mira Loma — has closed. At this rate, Timm could run out of places to eat by the end of the year. Let’s hope not. It appears the chain’s Chino Hills location was similarly shuttered. A Lake Elsinore location closed in July. Thanks for the tip, Timm! Gone belly up In researching the closure of JoJo’s Pizza Kitchen, I discovered one of my favorite restaurants has also closed. Pacific Fish Grill has closed its Eastvale and Chino Hills — and West Covina — locations. Its sole — pardon the pun — remaining location is in Glendora. Beer brunch An Upland brewery is hosting Sunday brunch on Jan. 12. The Stout House, 1294 W. Ninth St., is hosting the event from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Cali Grubbin’ Catering is providing the food, which will include breakfast tacos, chilaquiles, a pork belly breakfast sandwich, and dulce de leche pancakes. Tickets are available via Eventbrite, and must be purchased by Friday, Jan. 10. Cost is $15 (plus a $2.55 service fee), which includes an entrée and a beer. More brunch The Underground in Redlands has added an extra day for brunch. The eatery, which began offering a Sunday brunch back in April, now offers brunch from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. both Saturdays and Sundays. Entrées include a breakfast burrito, berry french toast, steak and eggs, and eggs Benedict. An endless — well, up to six — mimosa and bloody mary bar is also available. The Underground is at 19 E. Citrus Ave., Suite 103, directly below the Redlands Daily Facts. Dog day anniversary The Claremont Dog Haus Biergarten will celebrate its first anniversary on Monday, Jan. 13. 3 The location will offer $1 Haus Dogs from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. In addition, the Dog Haus will have an anniversary beer — Dog Day IPA — created by Hamilton Family Brewery available for $1. The price is valid for dine-in only, and guests can get one of each at that price. The location is also hosting a fundraiser for the Claremont-based Children’s Foundation of America — an organization which supports foster children and other children in need —from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. Guests showing the flier available on the Children’s Foundation of America’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/childrensfoundation) will have 20% of their bill benefit the organization. The Claremont Dog Haus Biergarten is at 2209 E. Base Line, Suite 700. Kegs for Cory Last Name Brewing is hosting a fundraiser for Cory Norton, a San Bernardino County firefighter who is battling a very rare form of cancer called epithelioid sarcoma. The family-friendly event will take place from 3-9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the brewery, 2120 Porterfield Way, Upland. The event will feature a barbecue fundraiser sponsored by San Bernardino County Fire Local 935 and the Fontana Police Foundation. There will also be a raffle, with prizes including rides in a firetruck, gift baskets donated by local businesses and organizations, and a ride in a police helicopter. There will also be games and a bounce house for the kids. Now open The Shops at University Park in San Bernardino is celebrating the opening of its newest eateries from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11. Afters Ice Cream, Fire Wings, Asian Fusion Eatery, and Poketology (along with VCA Northside Animal Hospital) are now open and join Wayback Burgers, Jimmy John’s, Jamba Juice, and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in the center, 1725-1775 W. Northpark Blvd. Another eatery, It’s Boba Time, is expected to open soon. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, entertainment by the Cajon High School band, a DJ from Cal State University San Bernardino’s Coyote Radio, face painting, a balloon artist, food samples, games and giveaways. https://www.sbsun.com/2020/01/09/dine-909-the-habit-burger-grill-open-in-colton-but-other-inland- restaurants-have-closed/ 4 .
