Transliterasi yang digunakan Fakultas Syari’ah Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang menggunakan EYD plus, yaitu transliterasi yang didasarkan atas surat keputusan bersama (SKB) Menteri Agama dan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Rebuplik Indonesia, ranggal 22 Januari 1998, No. 158/1987 dan 0543.b/U/1987, sebagaimana tertera dalam buku Pedoman Transliterasi Bahasa Arab (A Guide Arabic Transliteration), INIS Fellow 1992. vii B. Konsonan dl = ض tidak dilambangkan = ا th = ط b = ب dh = ظ t = ت ؛ = ع ts = س gh = غ j= ج f = ف h= ح q = ق kh = خ k = ك d = د l = ل dz = ذ m = م r = ر n = ن z = ز w = و s = س h = ه sy = ش y = ي sh = ص yang sering dilambangkan dengan alif, apabila awal (ء) Hamzah kata maka mengikuti vokalnya, tidak dilambangkan. Namun apabila terletak di tengan atau akhir maka dilambangkan dengan tanda koma di ”ع “ berbalik dengan koma (‘) untuk lambang pengganti ,(؛) atas C. Vokal, Panjang dan Diftong Setiap penelitian bahasa Arab dalam bentuk tulisan latin vokal fathah ditulis dengan “a”, kasrah dengan “i”, dhommah dengan “u”, sedangkan bacaan panjang masing-masing ditulis dengan cara berikut: menjadi qâla قال Vokal (a) panjang = â misalnya viii menjadi qîla قيل Vokal (i) panjang = î misalnya menjadi dûna دون Vokal (u) panjang = û misalnya Khusus untuk ya’ nisbat, maka tidak boleh diganti dengan “i”, melainkan tetap ditulis dengan “iy” agar dapat menggambarkan ya’ nisbat di akhirnya. Amien... Peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions; God creates the universe in accordance with the constant divine laws that does not change and won't change till day of Judgment. One of this laws that God chooses one of His worshippers as a prophet and a messenger whenever people go far away from Him, sunk in error, became perplexed and their silly minds invent gods; worshipped and sacred them. God's mercy was manifested in sending his worshippers a prophet or a messenger Inviting them to return to the path of the right to worship their Creator.

The international community has demonstrated indecision regarding concerted strategic action in the face of Bashar al-Assad’s brutal acts against the Syrian population. Meanwhile, the subsequent refugee crisis is heavily impacting Syria’s neighboring countries Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon and to a lesser extent Iraq. In the two latter, the political implications of what is turning more and more into a proxy war are felt the strongest and contribute to the increasing instability of both countries.

  • Islamic Revival in the Middle East
ISLAMIC REVIVAL IN THE MIDDLE EAST: THE CASE OF THE QUBAISYATE MOVEMENT IN SYRIA By SANA MAHMANDAR A dissertation submitted to the Graduate School-Newark Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey In partial fulfillment of the requirements For the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Graduate Program in The Division of Global Affairs Written under the direction of Jean-Marc Coicaud And approved by _____________________________________ _____________________________________ _____________________________________ _____________________________________ Newark, New Jersey October 2015 Copyright Page © [2014] Sana Mahmandar ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Abstract of The Dissertation Syria has prided itself throughout modern history of being a secular state, with no official religion, in the heart of the Islamic and Arab world. The reality however, is that the country is facing the same wave that is overcoming the whole region and battling the same issues as other Islamic and Arab states that are currently being overwhelmed with the phenomenon of religious revivalism. One of the major instruments of Islamic revivalism in Syria is an all-women grassroots social movement called the Qubaisyate, which was successful in becoming a substantial driving force behind the rise toward religious conservatism, not only in Syria, but also in other Arab and Muslim countries, reaching as far as Europe and the United States. This study argues that the emergence of the Qubaisyate Islamic movement in the heart of the capital of Ba’athist Syria since the early 1960s, and multiplying to hundreds of thousands of followers in the present day, is due to the rising influence of Islamic revivalism in the Middle East which had influenced the growth of the Islamic sector in Syria, including the Qubaisyate movement.
