Clackamas has been a participant in the Alliance electronic resources program for several years, applied for full governing membership last year, and finalized membership in February 2016. The college is expected to begin a migration project in early 2017 and join the Orbis Cascade Alliance shared integrated library system (ILS) in June of that year. “We are so very pleased to welcome Clackamas Community College to the Orbis Cascade Alliance,” said Faye A. Chadwell, chair of the Alliance board of directors, Donald and Delpha Campbell university librarian, and Oregon State University press director. “In voting to offer membership, the Council of deans and directors felt strongly that Clackamas Community College is a good fit for membership and shares the strong commitment to deep collaboration that typifies membership in the Orbis Cascade Alliance.” “Clackamas Community College has been planning for membership for the last several years,” said Phillip King, Dean of Instruction and Student Services. “The library added a new faculty position last year and we are ready to be an active contributor to the Orbis Cascade Alliance. Clackamas Community College looks forward to working with public and private colleges and universities across the Northwest while strengthening library services to our students, staff, and faculty.” In her announcement to Alliance members, Chadwell noted that “the review team was impressed with the enthusiasm and preparedness of the staff and administration. Clackamas staff did substantial research in preparation for membership and we are impressed with their knowledge of our strategic agenda and enthusiasm for Alliance work. It is exciting to have such a strong new member and key academic institution join from Oregon’s largest metropolitan area.” About Clackamas Community College Recognized for its committed, supportive faculty and staff, Clackamas Community College offers classes and services to a diverse student body at three active campuses – the Oregon City campus, the Harmony Community Campus in North Clackamas and the Wilsonville campus.
