Conduct toward Cheer and Band This code of conduct applies to students in regard to their behavior towards • No interaction with referees such as: referees, players, coaches, cheerleaders, • No throwing items • Yelling band members, and other fans. • No negative cheers • Booing • Be respectful of members and • Throwing equipment • Cursing • No direct comments to individual members • Any other related negative actions • Only interaction with referees must take Conduct towards Opposing Team’s FANS place through the on-court captain or coach • No negative comments/yelling Conduct towards • No negative exchanges between fans. Players and Coaches Physical • • Verbal • All cheers must be directed towards own team “Their house, their rules: • All cheers must be positive Visiting Teams Must • No direct comments to individual Adhere to Home Teams’ athletes Rules regarding things like • No physical or verbal threats of any dress, facepaint, signs, kind etc.” • All signs (if approved) must be coordinated through the school administrator .

Students are expected to attend all regularly scheduled classes and assemblies. Students must remain on school grounds and in assigned supervised areas for the duration of the school day unless officially excused by the attendance office. Good school attendance improves academic achievement, classroom and school climate. Under the laws of the State of Washington and policies of the Shoreline School District School Board, all student absences and tardies are illegal except for the following: • Illness of the student • Death in the immediate family • Quarantine • Exceptionally urgent reasons • Religious Observances • Request by a parent for a student absence, providing such absence does not adversely affect the student’s educational progress. It is the responsibility of parents to inform the school when their child has an absence. Please call the attendance line or email the attendance secretary by 9AM if your student is absent for the day.

The WIAA oversees athletics in Washington and hosts 120 WIAA State Championship events for the following sports and activities: baseball, basketball, bowling, cheerleading, cross country, dance/drill, debate, drama, football, golf, gymnastics, music, softball, swimming and diving, soccer, tennis, track & field, volleyball and wrestling. These programs provide students with valuable life skills and are an integral part of the total education process. The City Council recognizes Shoreline student athletes from King’s School and Shorecrest High School, for their outstanding accomplishments, and applauds them for competing in the WIAA State Championships and achieving 1st Place in their respective sporting event.
