We can all find a way to participate this High Holy Day season. As Rabbi Brown indicated, you can transform your home into a High Holy Day sanctuary. As another way to be present during online services, you can have your name (family name or all individual family members’ names) be seen throughout the services (with the upcoming year’s affirmation for individuals or families on the back). We will affix the flames to a portable backdrop, which will be featured in our livestream High Holy Day services. The flame below represents the light that we can create for our community as we enter into this New Year of 5781.

Joan Kretchmer ~ passed away June 25th in Sarasota, Florida. Sara Doris (Freid) Horvitz ~ passed away July 13th in Coconut She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Henry E. Creek, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Kretchmer, M.D. and her sister Marle Abramson. She is survived Irene Freid, her daughter, Jan, her husband, Harold, and sister and by son Kenneth Kretchmer, M.D (Janet) and daughter Kathy brother-in law Marilyn and Irving Weissman. She is survived by Kretchmer (Harold Mann), grandchildren Emily Winthrop her children, Barry and Kim Horvitz, Jay and Robin Horvitz, Jodi (Philippe), Lisa Barber (Willard) and Daniel Kretchmer (Nina (Horvitz) and Andrew Mirman; grandchildren Eric and Allison Rosche), and great grandchildren Aviva Winthrop, Willard Horvitz, Megan (Horvitz) and Andrew Palmer, Morgan Mirman, Barber, Sawyer Barber, and Charlie Kretchmer. Haylie Mirman, Adam Horvitz, and Rachel Horvitz. She leaves behind 2 great grandsons James and Matthew Horvitz.

Mildred ‘Mel’ (Gross) Stern ~ passed away July 24th. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lud (z”l), and her son, Jay (z’’l). She is survived by her daughters, Betsy Kelly (Vic (z’’l) and Harriet Weinglass (Norman), and her son, Rob Stern (Lucy Marshall), and by her seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
