  • Our Creative Creator “For My Thoughts Are Not Your Thoughts, Neither Are Your Ways My Ways...” Lee Popwell, D.C
February 2018 • Volume LIX, Number 2 Lee Popwell, D.C. Greenville, SC Our Creative Creator “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways...” Lee Popwell, D.C. — Isaiah 55:8 As I approach my 40th year of practice, it has become increasingly appar- ent through so many different experiences that I have learned to appreciate how creative our God can be. One of the early occasions where I made note of that was in a change of circumstances in my first year of practice. I graduated from National College in August 1979. I went immediately to Cincinnati, Ohio, to start practice as an associate with a doctor who had mentored me from the beginning of my education, and, in fact, had introduced me to the field itself. The timing seemed so perfect. He had practiced for over 20 years with his fa- ther, and his father retired just before I was graduating, so I was stepping into a busy 2-doctor practice with my chiropractic mentor. To me, at the time, everything seemed perfectly in line to set up my future in chiropractic practice. Surely this was God’s hand guiding me, and I felt very secure as I practiced those first few months under my mentor’s direction. What would happen in a 10-minute period on a Friday morning starting my third month of practice would teach me a valuable lesson that God’s creativity does not always line up with man’s plans. I remember it well. It was a beautiful fall Friday morning as I arrived to work, only to be told by the office manager that the other doctor needed to see me privately in his office.

Q-LINK ON MAJOR GOLF TOURS The Q-Link pendant is currently worn by more than 300 touring professional golfers on the four major golf tours (PGA, Champions, LPGA, and European). It was worn by players during victories in more than 10 major golf championships. It was worn by the members of the European Ryder Cup team when it beat the U.S. in 2002. It was worn when the decades old PGA 72 hole scoring record was broken by Mark Calcavecchia. Congratulations go out to some of the recent tour winners, all of whom wore the Q-Link pendant during their victories: the 2005 Byron Nelson Classic (Ted Purdy) the 2005 U.S. Senior Open Championship (Allen Doyle) the 2005 U.S. Women's Open (Birdie Kim) the 2005 Women's British Open (Jeong Jang) and the 2005 Women's World Match Play Championship (Marisa Baena). From it’s very inception, THE PLAYERS Championship was designed to and has drawn national and international attention to our region and visitors the world over. Immediately following the 2016 PLAYERS, a significant renovation of THE PLAYERS Stadium Course, and surrounding fan amenities, resulted in landmark improvements to the property – furthering the tournaments foundation as the foremost global showcase for Northeast Florida. THE PLAYERS Stadium Course is not only home to the most recognized golf hole in sports, it has grown into an important gathering place for our partners to entertain prospects, clients and associates. The fan-friendly set-up of TPC Sawgrass, the history and tradition of the tournament, and the best golfers in the world on display assure the very best experience for you and your guests. The 2016 event generated $8.5 million for local charities, passing the 2015 record-breaking total of $8.1 million. The funds generated by THE PLAYERS each year benefit more than 300 charities throughout Northeast Florida, totaling approximately $83.5 million in charity giving since the event moved to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1977. Through your continued support, we look forward to continuing the tradition of giving back this year as we showcase our area to the world. • 2004 PGA TOUR Media Guide / 1-1 Table of Contents
A Message to the Media n behalf of the players and staff, welcome to the 2004 PGA TOUR season. We appreciate your continued interest in our sport, and we clearly recognize the extent to which our success is tied to the thorough and professional coverage we receive from a Owide variety of global media outlets. As the PGA TOUR begins another great season, we can truly state that the image and competitive spirit of our players has led to the healthiest state in the history of our organization. The Sports Business Journal recently reaffirmed this when it published the “2003 League Report Card,” a survey of corporate sponsors’ opinions of their investment in sports properties. The PGA TOUR ranked first in overall satisfaction among the 16 major sports. This is important as we continue to raise the exposure of our tournaments, provide significant value to our sponsors and showcase the widespread excellence of our athletes. The competition level on the PGA TOUR in 2003 was at an all-time high, with season-ending honors going down to the wire. Tiger Woods recorded a season-high five victories and the lowest stroke average on TOUR and garnered a fifth consecutive Player of the Year honor. Vijay Singh won four times and captured his first money title. Davis Love III won a career-high four times, includ- ing THE PLAYERS Championship, making 2003 the first time in 30 years where three players won four or more times in a season. However, the depth of the TOUR was never more evident. Eleven players age 40 or older combined to capture 15 PGA TOUR titles.
