WAY OUT WEST – A BLAST FROM THE PAST FA CUP with Budweiser 2nd QUALIFYING ROUND SATURDAY 1 OCTOBER 2011 BOURNEMOUTH 0 TRURO CITY 0 In sweltering conditions (and yes we’re talking October here) a fantastic performance by Bournemouth in probably one of the best games seen at the Vic in the last decade, and the team came so close to causing an upset and taking the scalp of a club some 64 places above them in the pyramid system. Kicking towards the Winton End in the opening period the game started at a frantic pace and stayed at a very high level for the whole contest, and whilst there would have been long periods when it was difficult to say who was the higher placed team, hats off to both teams. A nasty injury saw Warren withdrawn before the half hour mark so the home side had to have a hasty realignment. The first real chance of the game came on 38 minutes although both keepers had already had a few good touches of the ball. Daysh launched a free kick from around 15 yards inside his own half into the Winton goalmouth. Sandercombe didn’t make a clean catch and was forced to drop on the ball under pressure from Rowley. Into the second period in front of one of Bournemouth’s best gates for years on 53 minutes Keeler won the ball out wide and his cross picked out Saadi whose first time effort rolled painfully wide of the target. The White Tigers were under the cosh for a period of time and within two minutes Daysh had a great header that flashed over the bar and Saadi again had a chance to get a goal on the hour mark when his curling free kick hit the side netting from close to 25 yards out. Just prior to this though, Truro’s Watkins had also curled an effort just wide of the target. Bournemouth still looked to be the team most likely to score with Blake and Daysh again both coming close, the introduction of Iglewski and Stone nearly paid off replacing Saadi and Pinder as the game entered the final few minutes. With time running out Conference South fitness began to come to the fore and Smith came very close to breaking the hearts of the home support when his shot rolled along the crossbar before being cleared to safety, Bournemouth defended courageously in the final moments to deny the visitors the win, and set up a mouth-watering but difficult replay in Cornwall in three days. POPPIES: Max Frampton, Kane Daysh, Dan Taylor, Joe Byrne, Wayne Crutcher [Captain], Jon Blake, Jake Rowley, Tommy McCormick, Martin Warren (Justin Keeler), Fawzi Saadi (Mariusz Iglewski), James Pinder (Luke Stone). Unused John Wyatt, Max Crow, Dan Alcon, Kenny Vaughan. TRURO CITY: Tim Sandercombe, Edward Palmer, Scott Walker, Arran Pugh, Joe Broad, Danny Clay, Les Afful, Andrew Taylor [Captain], Stewart Yetton (Cody Cooke), Andrew Watkins, Dan Smith. Unused: Kieren Conibear- Trathen, Marcus Martin, Jake Ash, Lee Hodges. REFEREE: Derek Eaton. You will see this week that I have re-hashed an old article that I first published a few months ago with regards to Staking and Bank Strategies (some bits of it may still be the same than in its first publication). I decided to do this last Saturday night when I got out and about my beautiful cathedral city (apologies for my dodgy camerawork) for some fresh air following the news of the new UK ‘Lockdown’. I put the word lockdown in inverted comma’s as most people are still going out the house everyday so not quite sure it is he right word to use but most of us should have more time on our hands during the month of November. We should utilise any time this month for some reflection on our betting strategies and how we can best use the many bonuses and welcome offers that betting companies offer. Take a read, or a re- read, and let me know what you think and tell me if you think I have left anything of that jumps out at you. This is a collective effort to take money off the bookmakers! This week we have a few recaps of League Two bets made pre-season and also some NFL wagers made ahead of time. Talking of NFL bets, take a look at what is pictured to the right here. It saddens me to say that this is the last time you will see the NFL Magic Whiteboard. I enjoy betting certain markets in the NFL as I love the research that it entails in terms of game flow and how the match may progress.

  • Marlow (BFB Cup)
HARTLEY WINTNEY FC HISTORY Hartley Wintney Football Club History Hartley Wintney Football Club was founded in the North Hampshire village of Hartley Wintney in 1897 and played in an area adjacent to the village's golf and cricket clubs, the facilities not quite being up to today's standard, with only a horse trough or the pond to remove the heavy mud from a sub-standard pitch. The Club's nickname of 'The Row' comes from 'Hartley Row', a former hamlet within Hartley Wintney. In 1953, the club moved to its present ground in Green Lane, known as 'The Memorial Ground'. A pavilion was erected and the team played in the Basingstoke League and, later, in the Aldershot League. In 1973, an influx of players under new manager Glynn Howell put the club firmly on the local football map. In his six year reign, the team won the Aldershot Senior League three times in succession, and the Aldershot Senior Cup. After several seasons in the Aldershot Senior League, Hartley were admitted to the Combined Counties League (previously Surrey Senior League). After the first couple of seasons and two changes of management, the club appointed Ian Bedford, and once again an influx of senior players brought Hartley success. Within his three years in man- agement, they gained trophies including the League Title (1982-1983) and Runners Up (1981-1982), Aldershot Senior Cup Winners (1980-1981), and George Allen Cup Win- ners (1981-1982). They were also Runners Up in the League Cup (1982-1983) and Al- dershot Senior Cup (1981-1982).

£1.00 Welcome to Stag Meadow Windsor F.C. v Burnham F.C. Saturday 25th November 2017 Kick Off 3:00pm Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Stag Meadow for todays HLP match against Burnham. I offer a warm welcome to our visitors and trust supporters, players and officials have had a trouble free journey across the Relief Road. I extend that welcome to our match day officials and again hope Messrs Parkinson, Wilkins & Maxwell enjoy their very brief stay with us in The Great Park. We welcome back some very familiar faces today; let’s hope both Jeffers (Kyle Jeffrey) and Rio (Omar Riaz) are on top form. You will recognise other names and faces but with Alan Paris still assessing his squad it’s too risky for me to mention too many names! We have two fixtures this coming week, after today. On Monday we make the trip over to Woodley United for a league cup tie. Next Saturday we have the 3rd Round Vase tie away at Walton & Hersham. Travel information for both games can be found in this issue. Finally, a reminder that fixtures are fairly fluid in the Hellenic League, so as much as we try and keep them accurate in the programme, please refer to the football club Twitter account for to-the-minute updates! @windsorfc Enjoy the game Matt Page 1 – www.thamesmotorgroup.co.uk From the Bench Page 3 – www.thamesmotorgroup.co.uk From the Bench The end of our winning run was inevitable, I just never expected it to end on Tuesday night.
