2019 BOWIE BAYSOX GAME NOTES Wednesday, July 24, 2019 - 12:05 P.M 2019 BOWIE BAYSOX GAME NOTES Wednesday, July 24, 2019 - 12:05 p.m. The Diamond -- Richmond, VA Bowie Baysox (55-45, 25-7) @ Richmond Flying Squirrels (36-63, 13-19) RHP Dean Kremer (6-4, 3.34 ERA) vs. RHP Keyvius Sampson (0-1, 3.00 ERA) Game #101 // Road Game #48 2019 SEASON In Case You Missed It: The Baysox swept a doubleheader in Richmond Monday night, thanks to two seven-inning shutouts from Overall Record 55-45, 25-7 the pitching staff. Bowie won the games by final scores of 5-0 and 2-0. In game one, Bruce Zimmermann tossed a complete game Home Record 30-23 shutout for the second time this season. Zimmermann allowed just five hits and struck out four en route to his fifth win of the year. Road Record 25-22 The Baysox had five different players drive in a run in the game. In game two, Bowie fell just one out short of its second no-hitter Versus Eastern Division 18-9 in six days. Cody Sedlock made his first career Double-A start and did not allow a hit over 5.0 innings of work, striking out seven. Versus Western Division 37-36 Cristian Alvarado pitched the final 2.0 innings, and was a two-out double in the seventh away from completing the no-hitter. Current Streak W2 Bowie's two runs came in the top of the seventh on an RBI hit by pitch and a wild pitch that scored a run. With Tuesday's game being Last Homestand 5-2 postponed, shortening this series from four games to three, Bowie's two wins Monday clinched a 14th straight series victory. Current Road Trip 2-0 Baysox Starter: RHP Dean Kremer will make his 12th start of the season for the Baysox today. Kremer has won five consecutive Last 5 Games 4-1 decisions and has not lost since June 16. The 23-year-old is coming off an outstanding start against Altoona, where he tied a career- Last 10 Games 8-2 high by tossing 7.0 scoreless innings in a 1-0 Bowie victory. After putting up a 2.48 ERA and winning three times in five June starts, When Scoring 4+ Runs 41-12 Kremer has begun July 3-0 with a 2.31 ERA. Kremer has now allowed one earned run or less in five of his last eight starts. Alex Wells is third with a 1.83 ERA, Bruce Zimmermann is 21st with a 2.58 ERA and Zac Lowther is 23rd with a 2.64 ERA. Not Baysox vs. Richmond only do the Baysox have three pitchers in the top-23 in ERA, but they are the only team with even two pitchers in that range in all of full-season minor league baseball. Wells, Zimmermann and Lowther also have the top three ERA's in the Eastern League. Alvarado has two wins and three saves 7/24 at Richmond over that stretch. Since moving to the bullpen after two starts to begin the season, Tate has a 1.67 ERA in 15 relief appearances and 8/9 at Richmond 27.0 innings. Every Baysox starter had at least one hit in the win, and Home Record 3-11 a season-high five players had multi-hit efforts. Ademar Rifaela led the way with the first multi-home run game Road Record 5-12 for the team this year. Carlos Perez had a three-run blast of his own, and drove in four runs, a season-high for the Versus Eastern Division 0-0 club.
