Apart from being great fun and featuring terrific performances, this is a profound story. At its centre is Horton the Elephant’s assertion that "a person’s a person no matter how small". Obviously, these are words to live by. They are also a call to action for young people – to think and care about those who are sometimes forgotten or unseen. We hope Seussical inspires all audience members, young and not so young, to be conscious of the impact of their actions. Think how much better the world would be. To quote another song from the show "Oh the thinks you can think – if you’re willing to try..." Our show runs through the Holidays with public performances every day between December 27th and 31st. Nederlander or “Jimmy,” Chairman of The Nederlander Organization, was the visionary theatrical impresario who built one of the largest private live entertainment companies in the world known for producing and presenting world-class entertainment since 1912. Jimmy started working in the theatre at age 7 sweeping floors for his father, David Tobias (D.T.) Nederlander, in Detroit, Michigan. During a career that spanned over 70 years, Jimmy amassed a network of premier legitimate theatres including nine on Broadway: the Brooks Atkinson, Gershwin, Lunt-Fontanne, Marquis, Minskoff, Nederlander, Neil Simon, Richard Rodgers, and the world famous Palace; in Los Angeles: The Pantages; in London: the Adelphi, Aldwych, and Dominion; and in Chicago: the Auditorium, Broadway Playhouse, Cadillac Palace, and CIBC Theatres, and the Oriental Theatre which this year was renamed the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Jimmy’s honor. Office buildings have been hollowed out and how we return to them will never be the same. For some, they may never return. A few of Canada’s largest companies are declaring working from home will be the new norm and they're not alone, many are following suit. Social purpose spaces (like Innovation Works) shape how our communities are designed and built, and they matter for equitable, healthy, and complete communities as well as vibrant local economies (source: Future of Good). “I am supporting the Community Bond because I believe in social purpose real estate, and believe that investing in a shared space makes our communities stronger and healthier.” -Jeffrey Good Innovation Works is a place for solutions. SARA BRIANS is a director, choreographer, dancer and educator based in New York City. Her work spans Broadway theatre to film, live events and industrials. She has extensive experience conceiving choreography for large-scale productions as well as intimate venues, always with the purpose to develop and deliver original, inventive and imaginative theatre through artistic collaboration and galvanizing inspiration. Most recently, Sara directed and choreographed Godspell at Theatre Aspen and choreographed Follies at the Astoria Performing Arts Center, for which she has received a nomination for Outstanding Choreography by the NY Innovative Theatre Awards.
