Dear Friends of the College of Music Each year, the College of Music, Mahidol University hosts more than 300 music performances ranging from solo, small ensemble, large ensemble, in addition to numerous international music competitions and music festivals on campus and off campus. As music activities and music performances are important and essential partners of musical studies, we continue to give strong support and our undivided attention to ensure that our students have abundant opportunities to utilize the musical activities to develop and accumulate their experiences. Music is the art and science of sound and music is also the art of listening. Good music performances presented in good concert halls allows the audiences to enjoy and become educated about the music being performed. At the College of Music, students are exposed to vast choices of musical instruments and wide range of music including Classical, Thai traditional, Folk, Jazz and Pop as we believe that all kinds of music has its own beauty. Besides educating students, the College of Music also has a mission to educate society and the local community. Therefore, the College of Music, Mahidol University is very proud to present quality music performances to the Thai society. This is an example of music education management for Thai society so that Thai people can learn to recognize high quality performance. Encouraging the Thai education system to reform their music education policy is also a good step in developing Thai audience knowledge and appreciation. Organizing musical activities takes financial support from many sectors, public, private, corporate, etc. Thai society deserves to see only high quality musical performances. Our College of Music is blessed to have the support of the Royal Thai government, the private sector, parents of the students and many others because all of us believe that "Good society is not for sale, if in need, we ought to help to build it"
