I’ve added comments in GREEN to help with your selection Puppet Animation Festival Scotland We can only programme one puppet show per venue We can support the following productions … • All the Little Birds • Celeste’s Circus • The Magic Horse • Jack and the Beans Talk • Cardboard Carnival • Briar Rose • Dinosaur Detectives • The Fisherman and the Seal • Willie the Wicked Wolf BOOKING DEADLINE Wednesday 4 October 2017 4 Our Theatre Subsidy will be changing We are currently reviewing our Theatre Subsidy Scheme to create a simpler scheme which will be introduce in April 2018. The scheme will be discussed at our Board meeting in October 2017 and the proposal below is based on the most common responses we’ve received from other rural schemes across the UK. We are unlikely to know what funding we will receive from Creative Scotland for 2018-2021 until January 2018 so it’s difficult to finalise details, we wish the scheme to be as fair and supportive to you as possible. It’s important for you to know that these changes are coming so that you assess the impact this may have on your programming. It’s likely that we will have a transitional period between April and August 2018 to ensure that we can support you the best we can and reduce financial risk in the early stages of the new scheme. If you have an audience of 30 or above your circumstances is unlikely to change and your events may be more profitable. Current Scheme The current scheme is based on the sales of your highest 30 tickets to determine your minimum payment and then a box office split applies to the sum of your ticket sales above this figure. NEAT collects 100% of your box office if you sell less than 30 tickets. Currently box office splits (after 30 highest tickets are calculated) • Between 30 and 59 sold Venue 20% NEAT 80% • Over 60 tickets sold – Venue 30% NEAT 70% New Scheme Currently we are looking at implementing the following scheme, but actual figures have yet to be set. These figures are in line with other Rural Touring Schemes across the UK. Your minimum payment to NEAT will be 25% of the production fee, for example, if the show costs £1,000 you will pay NEAT a minimum of £250 regardless of box office income, for a £700 show you will pay a minimum £175. This is lower than the current 30 tickets scenario so you will start making income quicker. After your minimum payment is deducted from your total box office income the following split will apply • 25% Venue 75% NEAT However some riskier productions will have a Support Fund if the 25% of the fee is not achieved through ticket sales. These may be dance productions, contemporary or experimental work, productions which may appeal to a smaller audience or engage with a more diverse audience. We will look at a transition period to try and make sure that all productions are supported during the change – Support Fund is an example of the type of shows we will provide extra support to in the future. If you would like to discuss these changes further or see how they may impact on your box office income please do not hesitate to get in touch with Emyr, [email protected] or 01330 826525. 5 THE PRINCESS AND THE GOBLIN 5+ Northumberland Theatre Company Physical Theatre Website https://www.northumberlandtheatre.co.uk Video https://www.northumberlandtheatre.co.uk The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald adapted by Karen Hirst Princess Irene is to be the bride of the goblin king’s son; unfortunately he hasn’t actually asked her yet. Venues should contact me for more details if they prefer to feature only one show, rather than both. Both of my 'one-woman shows', The Moira Monologues (2009) and its new sequel (More) Moira Monologues (2017), have built up substantial and loyal audiences, acclaim and awards, especially given the latter's hugely successful run at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, culminating in a prestigious Fringe First award and 5*****stars from The Scotsman's chief theatre critic, Joyce McMillan.

Edinburgh Fringe 2016: Comedy Pierre Novellie is Cool Peter Pleasance Courtyard August 3 – 28 August (not 15) @ 9.45pm ‘Dawn of a major talent’ Guardian Is it cool to be depressed? Is it cool to have read an 800 year-old poem about magi- cal, vaginal ventriloquism, or to have to worried about more about elves than the op- posite (human) sex? Maybe. Finding that the rewards of Warhammer might not have been quite so worthwhile as he thought in his youth, Pierre Novellie picks his way through an equally perilous adulthood littered with rats and chicken bones - and that’s just the journey to the end of his street. That’s not cool. But then a dawning realisation that very little is helps Pierre start to feel good after all. Join comedy’s hottest new prospect on the road to some kind of salvation. Pierre Novellie is one of the best up-and-coming comedians in the United Kingdom. After appearing with the Footlights at Cambridge University, Pierre was nominated for the Amused Moose Comedy Award and Best Debutant for The Skinny Awards in 2013, the year in which he won the Amused Moose Laugh-Off.
