Chris Scalet (2010) Executive Vice President, Global Services, and Chief Information Officer Merck and Co., Inc. J. Christopher (Chris) Scalet is executive vice president, global services, and chief information officer (CIO) at Merck & Co., Inc., responsible for the company’s information technology and global services functions, which include real estate; facilities services; Lean Six Sigma; shared business services; security; energy; travel and aviation. He is a member of Merck’s executive committee and reports to Merck Chairman, president and chief executive officer Richard T. Clark. Scalet was formerly with International Paper (IP), where he served as senior vice president and chief information officer, managing information technology and telecommunications strategy, planning, and operations for the world’s largest paper and forest products company. He was a member of IP’s senior leadership team and the company’s eBusiness Steering Committee. Prior to IP, Scalet was vice president and chief information officer at MAPCO, Inc. (now The Williams Co.), a Fortune 250 diversified energy company. Scalet is on the Board of Directors of the Netezza Corporation, and was past Honorary Conference Chair for the National Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA). He received his bachelor’s degree in management science and computer systems from Oklahoma State University and completed the executive development program at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Bill McDermott (2009) President, Global Field Operations, Member, SAP AG Executive Board SAP AG Bill McDermott is a member of the executive board of SAP AG and serves as President of Global Field Operations, overseeing the company's strategic business activities around the globe. Previously, McDermott was responsible for managing SAP's operations in the United States, Canada and Latin America and in the Asia Pacific Japan region. Since McDermott's arrival, SAP USA has delivered 25 consecutive quarters of market share gains, revenue growth and customer satisfaction improvements. Prior to joining SAP, McDermott served as executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Operations at Siebel Systems, and president of Gartner, Inc. Prior to that he was at Xerox Corporation, where he rose through the ranks to become the company's youngest corporate officer and division president. In 1997, McDermott's division received the Malcolm Baldrige Award. McDermott has received numerous awards including Idealist of the Year by City Year Greater Philadelphia, Humanitarian of the Year by Triangle, Inc., the Yitzhak Rabin Public Services Award, and the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Applied Technology. In 2005, McDermott was elected to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and to the Chamber Foundation Board. McDermott received an MBA degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and he completed the Executive Development Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Graduate School of Management. He received his B.S. degree in business administration from Dowling College. In 2004, McDermott was elected to the Dowling College Board of Trustees and was also recognized by Dowling College as its Alumnus of the Year in 2003. Cristóbal I. Cristóbal I. Conde is SunGard's president and chief executive officer, and a member of its board of directors. SunGard is a Fortune 500 company, headquartered in Wayne, Pennsylvania. With annual revenue of approximately $5 billion, SunGard is one of the world’s top twenty leading software and IT services companies. Conde was elected chief executive officer in August 2002 and has been a board member since August 1999. He served as chief operating officer between 1999 and 2002 and previously headed up SunGard's Trading Systems division, which he started in 1990. Under Conde's direction, the Trading Systems division expanded to four groups comprised of twenty-two operating units employing over two thousand staff. In August 2005, Conde was instrumental in turning SunGard private in a leveraged buy-out (LBO) valued at $11.5 billion – at the time the second largest LBO ever. SunGard is now the largest privately held software and IT services company. Prior to joining SunGard, Conde co-founded Devon Systems International, Inc., which was acquired by SunGard in 1987. At the time, Devon focused on providing systems for the interest rate and currency derivatives markets. Born in Santiago, Chile, Conde holds a B.S. in Astronomy and Physics from Yale University. Doreen A. Wright (2007) Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Campbell Soup Company Doreen A. Wright was appointed Campbell's Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer in 2001. She leads the company’s global information technology organization and reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer. She is responsible for directing global systems strategy and planning, application development and support, infrastructure, and the telecommunications network. Prior to joining Campbell, Doreen was Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Nabisco. She began her career at Merrill Lynch, managing several retail client service and processing units. In 1984, she joined Bankers Trust Company as Vice President, Institutional Trust and Custody Marketing. For the next 10 years, she held leadership positions as a Managing Director and Senior Vice President of numerous large-scale institutional customer service and technology groups. From 1995 through 1998, Doreen was Senior Vice President, Operations and Systems for Prudential Insurance Company’s Prudential Investment Group. Doreen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979. She serves on the Board of Directors of The Yankee Candle Company and The Riverside Symphonia, and she is a Trustee of the Campbell Soup Foundation. Susan J. Unger (2006) Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer DaimlerChrysler AG Susan J. Unger was named Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer for DaimlerChrysler AG effective November 1, 1998. Previously, she was Executive Director - Information Services Department for Chrysler Corporation. In her current position, she is responsible for directing systems and computer hardware strategy and planning, systems applications development, data center operations and telecommunications network operations for DaimlerChrysler AG. Unger joined Chrysler Corporation in September 1972, as a financial analyst in Sales and Marketing. She is also a member of the Research Board; the Kleiner Perkins CIO Strategy Exchange Forum; the Automotive Women’s Alliance; the University of Michigan College of Engineering National Advisory Committee; the Wayne State University Foundation Board; the President's Campaign Cabinet at Michigan State University; and the Interstate University Investment Committee. She also served on Michigan's Judicial Information Systems Advisory Commission. Recent awards include the 2005 Automotive News 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry and the 2004 Phoenix Mill Women’s Museum Pioneer Award. In 2003, she received the Michigan State University Alumni Service Award and the Association of Women in Computing Top American Women award. In 2002, she was named CIO of the Year by Salomon Smith Barney, Distinguished Alumnus of the Year by Wayne State University School of Business Administration and one of Detroit’s Most Influential Women by Crain's Detroit Business. She received the 2002 Broad College Outstanding Alumni Award from Michigan State University and the Automation Alley 2002 CIO of the Year award. Ms. Unger was named one of BtoB Magazine’s Top 25 eChampions in 2001. Unger was born in Detroit, Michigan. Ford Calhoun (2005) Senior Vice President Information Technology and Chief Information Officer GlaxoSmithKline Ford Calhoun was appointed CIO of GlaxoSmithKline in July 2001 and is also a member of the Corporate Executive Team. Calhoun is responsible for approximately 1200 employees and has led successful projects on implementing global email systems, global data centers, standardization, global IP communications, global collaboration applications and Business-to-Business applications. Under Calhoun’s leadership GSK is making a major push to implement Six Sigma to increase IT accountability.
