Ducks clobber Blue Crabs in series finale

WALDORF, MD - Fehlandt Lentini who went four for six with a solo home and three RBI’s, was a away from the cycle, sparked the Ducks’ offense in the first inning as the Ducks pounded the Blue Crabs in the series finale 14-4 on Sunday at Regency Furniture Stadium.

The Ducks, who scored three runs in the top of the first inning, rattled starting pitcher Scott Snodgress to a 3-0 lead. Snodgress was chased in the third inning after allowing seven runs, five of them earned on eight hits. Ian Marshall came in trying to alleviate the damage but was pulled after giving up six runs in one and two thirds innings.

The Blue Crabs got on the board in the third inning scoring two runs on an RBI single by left fielder Zach Wilson, and an RBI by third baseman Bryant Nelson.

Michael Snyder belted a two-run in the bottom of the eighth inning, his 11th home run this season and his fourth home run in the last five games. Ruben Gotay, who was three for five today, crushed a two run home run and the Ducks added four runs in the top of the fifth inning extending the lead to 13-2.

The Blue Crabs dipped into their bullpen quite a bit going through six pitchers to get through the game.

The Blue Crabs have an off day tomorrow and will welcome the Bridgeport Bluefish to town on Tuesday for a three game series. The first pitch is set for 7:05 P.M.
