While the overall plot of the film is interesting, about an hour was spent on just hashing out Alita taking in her new body and world. It didn’t leave much time for the end, which felt extremely abrupt and, of course, was a cliffhanger. I think that once Alita finds out who she is and the mission she’s had since her creation, it becomes overshadowed by her infatuation with Hugo—she’s in love, we get it. When I first saw the trailers for this movie, I was extremely 30 skeptical because of its animation and Alita’s ginormous eyeballs, but it really took me back to A.I. Artificial Intelligence. He Ispent every spare penny he had snapping up everything from original Star Wars toys to comic books to Ghostbusters memorabilia and lots more. The thing is, he never really seemed to enjoy it much. They sat in pristine boxes on shelves as he raved about how much money they were all going to be worth one day. Meanwhile, his kids sat staring, wondering why their father would have so much fun with boxes that no one was ever allowed to touch. That brings me to Open That Bottle Night, which is Feb. 23.
