September 2015 20 President’s Report “Disney’s Mulan” is our last major show at the Wyong Grove Theatre before moving to the Art House for “Oliver!” in April next year. Mulan is our second production for 2015 with nearly sixty children and teenagers in the cast aged 8 to 18 years, who have worked extremely hard over the past few months, along with the production team to bring you this Disney Musical, with fun, excitement and great music and vocals I am sure you will enjoy it. I would like to thank Stephanie (Director), Renee (Vocal Coach), Declan (Assistant Vocal Coach), Sarah (Choreographer), Tiffany (Costumes), Marion (Stage Manager), Karen & Annette (Production Managers), Nik (Lighting & Sound), Cassie (Props), Annette & Jenny (Front of House), Melissa (Tickets) , Beck (Set design & Artwork), The Backstage Crew, Hair, Makeup, Set Builders and Decorators, Canteen, Catering and many others too numerous to mention. The WMTC family is always looking for new members with a love of the performing arts. Next year is our first time in the new Art House with a full sized stage and all the mod cons (including comfortable seating I understand), so join us to be part of our presentation of the classic “Oliver!” 2 19 Production Team Thanks to the dedicated people behind the scenes Director’s Report who make this all possible: Director Stephanie Derry This is Stephanie Derry’s second Disney show in which she has taken on the Choreographer Sarah Heywood Cast Catering - Jayne Johnston, Renea Calverley, role of director, with the first being WMTC’s “The Little Mermaid” last year co- Vanessa Nakhoul directing with Cassie Roome, and “Mulan” will mark her second. Vocal Coach Renee Stein Glenn Parsons, Joy Mendoza Vassallo, Heidi Nader, Production Managers Karen Beggs, Annette Garvey Kellie McElhone, Kim Rowley, Leanne Faulkner, Starting at the age of 4, Stephanie has performed in “Anne of Green Gables” at Costume Design Tiffany Derry. Lisa Hayden, Lynette Mills, Narelle Parsons, Linda GMS and has since appeared in “The Wizard of Oz”, “Anything Goes” and their Stage Manager Marion Ella McWilliam, Sally Sturgess, Vanessa Roome, Kristy most recent production, “Legally Blonde” as Whitney. Carter. Set Design Beck Johnston Stephanie joined WMTC in 2004 and has performed in over 18 productions with Audience Catering Directors Assistant Madeline Parker WMTC, her favourites being “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, “Grease” David Smith, Linda McWilliam. Assistant Stage performing as Rizzo, “High School Musical” as Gabriella, “Eurobeat: Almost Eurovision” as Gert Gretel Skinner Manager Dressing room supervision (Iceland) and WMTC’s most recent production, “Rent” as Alexi Darling. Stephanie is currently in Assistant Vocal Coach Declan Green Heidi Nader, Joy Mendoza Vassallo, Kelly her 4th and final year of her Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary)/Bachelor of Arts degree with Drama as her major. She has performed in the USA, NZ and around Australia. She Nik Lyons, Jasmine Barron, Jesse Amy-Lee Dash, Donna Russell, Leanne Faulkner, Lighting & Sound performed in many musicals as a child with Gosford Musical Society. Sarah has Lazaro Maryellen Gillard, Vanessa Roome, Kristy Carter, Margaret Holdom, Jeanette Muller, Kim Rowley, a Bachelor of Arts (Dance and Theatre Studies) and a Bachelor of Education. She is a local dance high school teacher at St. Peter's Catholic College, Programme Ally Skinner, Ian Abbott Bumpin Builders Painters Constructors Tuggerah where she choreographed their musical “Grease” - performed by the Photography Elizabeth Parker (EP Photography) Fred Roome, Gretel Skinner, Ian Abbott, John high school students in March 2015. Sarah performed in the musical “HAIR” with Skinner, Peter Roome, Maddi Calverley-Haack, Video-Comms Ian Abbott Sally Sturgess, David Smith, Heidi Nader, Lisa Wyong Musical Theatre Company in 2014 and will be performing in “Mary Melissa Skinner, Karen Beggs, Programme Proof Hayden, Chris Hallett, Alex Roome, Isabella Poppins” with Gosford Musical Society in October/November this year. Our apologies if we have missed anyone, your efforts are appreciated even when not acknowledged. 18 3 Stage Manager Marion Ella has been involved with Musical Theatre for a number of years and enjoys her role of Stage Manager. She is particularly interested in junior theatre, watching very talented young performers excel in their art. The level of talent in this show is very high and she is looking forward to being a part of this production. Costumes Jacinta Burley Tayah Blackman Joseph Case Mulan marks Tiffany Derry’s 5th show costuming for WMTC. Her previous accolades include “High School Musical”, “Alice in Wonderland”, “The Little Mermaid” and WMTC's most recent production “Rent”. She is currently half way through her Bachelor of Teaching Primary (Honours) degree at the Newcastle of University. She would like to thank her Thursday Sewing Ladies, the production team, parents, volunteers and cast members who have helped with the costumes for this production. And she would once again, like to take the time to thank her big sister, Stephanie Derry, for once again, convincing her to use her amazing talents to costume such a meaningful show that showcases the importance of love, honour and family. She hopes you enjoy the show. Directors Assistant This is Madeline Parker’s production team debut, and she is very excited to be making it alongside such fabulous people.
