Daimler-Chrysler-Vehicle-Problems
Dodge Chrysler Vehicles - Poor Quality Reliability Safety Defects Page 1 of 17 DAIMLERCHRYSLER DODGE CHRYSLER VEHICLES - IMPORTANT CONSUMER INFORMATION BEFORE YOU BUY Dodge, Chrysler formerly DaimlerChrysler has had a history of excessive vehicle quality issues, safety defects and poor service. This continued despite the 1998 Chrysler merger with Daimler Benz and constant claims by DaimlerChrysler that this was a significant benefit to consumers. If anything, given the dramatic quality decline, it seems Mercedes Benz may have embraced some of the cost cutting quality standards at Chrysler to increase overall profitability. The problems continue despite stylish new vehicles and claims of new stringent quality standards by Chrysler to regain consumer confidence. Chrysler continues to deceive consumers regarding known potentially life threatening vehicle defects such as unsafe Seatbelts and Steering which continue to put consumer lives at risk every day. Chrysler still refuses to recall several common serious safety defects that cannot be absolved through mergers and buyouts. Chrysler continues to reduce its warranty expense through an aggressive refusal to honor many valid warranty claims while blaming the consumer whenever possible, such as defective engines where on schedule oil changes can be proven. Consumers often attribute this to being a dealer problem while failing to recognize that this is because Chrysler pressures dealers to keep warranty costs to a minimum, even for known problems and defects. Chrysler will do everything it can to avoid covering common problems under warranty whenever possible by blaming consumers or claiming issues cannot be duplicated. We believe Chrysler is the most negligent, deceptive, misleading and arrogant automobile manufacturer that does not deserve your business. -

As part of its mission to reduce fatalities and injuries, since model year 2001 NHTSA has included rollover information as part of its NCAP ratings. One of the primary means of assessing rollover risk is the static stability factor (SSF), a measurement of a vehicle’s resistance to rollover. The higher the SSF, the lower the rollover risk. -

September – October 2011 www.superbirdclub.com email: [email protected] Gary and Pam at the Salt Flats So what did you do on your summer vacation? We received these pics from Gary and Pam Beineke after racing their 1971 Daytona on the salt during Bonneville Speedweeks in September. Gary reports that they had a very successful initial outing as he ran at 207 mph and his wife Pam ran 208.478 mph! They had a lot of fun duplicating the old photos from when Bobby Isaac ran there in 1971. Gary reports: “When you arrive, you have to have the car tech inspected along with your safety gear. The level of inspection is dependent on what speeds you intend to go. For us, it has always been 200+, that's why we went overboard with our safety gear. For example, we use SFI 20 firesuits, when only SFI 15 is required. Once all the SFI tags are checked, the car is inspected. If you pass tech, you must attend the driver's meeting the morning that racing is set to begin. Afterward, you line up and get ready to run. Your licensing speeds are timed from mile marker 2 to 2 1/4 and also from 2 to 3, at which time you must lift from the throttle and turn off the course when you feel it is safe to do so. Your first pass must fall within 125-149mph. If you go over you must do the run again. If you go WAY over, you run the risk of being thrown out or forbidden to continue with any more runs. -
25 Jahre Chrysler Minivans – Ein Vierteljahrhundert Der Innovationen

FCA Canada: Historic 1963 Chrysler Turbine Car to Be Displayed at 2015 Canadian International Autoshow
Contact: Daniel Labre Bradley Horn FCA Canada: Historic 1963 Chrysler Turbine Car to be Displayed at 2015 Canadian International AutoShow Rare prototype vehicle is powered by a turbine engine which runs on Kerosene, Diesel – or JP-4 Jet Fuel Chrysler Turbine Car to be displayed as part of the 19-vehicle Art and the Automobile auto show feature This running example was shipped directly from the historical collection of FCA US LLC in Auburn Hills, Mich. A total of 50 Ghia-bodied Turbine Cars were built between 1963 and 1964, loaned to members of the general public, but never put into series production February 11, 2015, Toronto, Ont. - A 1963 Chrysler Turbine Car - one of the most famous vehicles in the rolling archive of FCA US LLC - has made the trip north for the 2015 Canadian International AutoShow (CIAS). One of three such prototypes in the Company’s collection, this “Turbine Bronze” example will be displayed to the public alongside 18 other classic cars as part of the Art and the Automobile historic vehicle exhibit at the 2015 CIAS, February 13-22, 2015. “The Chrysler Turbine program began in 1954 - in the supersonic jet airplane age -and lasted until 1981,” said Brandt Rosenbusch, Manager of Historical Vehicles – FCA US. “Like today, the company was exploring alternative propulsion solutions and to prove the engine’s flexibility, even ran them on perfume and alcohol – aside from the ‘standard’ JP-4 Jet Fuel. We have not shipped the car to Canada in the 25 years I have been here.” CIAS General Manager, Jason Campbell said: "The exhibit traces the artistic progression of vehicle design through the decades and the Chrysler Turbine Car is a great example of the transition period from the chrome-plated, aircraft- and rocket-influenced designs of the '50s to the more pure forms of the '60s, as it includes elements of both. -

RACING, REGION, AND THE ENVIRONMENT: A HISTORY OF AMERICAN MOTORSPORTS By DANIEL J. SIMONE A DISSERTATION PRESENTED TO THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA 2009 1 © 2009 Daniel J. Simone 2 To Michael and Tessa 3 ACKNOWLEDGMENTS A driver fails without the support of a solid team, and I thank my friends, who supported me lap-after-lap. I learned a great deal from my advisor Jack Davis, who when he was not providing helpful feedback on my work, was always willing to toss the baseball around in the park. I must also thank committee members Sean Adams, Betty Smocovitis, Stephen Perz, Paul Ortiz, and Richard Crepeau as well as University of Florida faculty members Michael Bowen, Juliana Barr, Stephen Noll, Joseph Spillane, and Bill Link. I respect them very much and enjoyed working with them during my time in Gainesville. I also owe many thanks to Dr. Julian Pleasants, Director Emeritus of the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program, and I could not have finished my project without the encouragement provided by Roberta Peacock. I also thank the staff of the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program. Finally, I will always be grateful for the support of David Danbom, Claire Strom, Jim Norris, Mark Harvey, and Larry Peterson, my former mentors at North Dakota State University. A call must go out to Tom Schmeh at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, Suzanne Wise at the Appalachian State University Stock Car Collection, Mark Steigerwald and Bill Green at the International Motor Racing Resource Center in Watkins Glen, New York, and Joanna Schroeder at the (former) Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC).
