The Hebrew High School of New England and the Bess & Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy of Greater Hartford are planning to merge into a PK-12 Orthodox Jewish Day School. Our goal is to build upon the strengths of each entity to create a new school with a unified and forward thinking curriculum, challenging academics, traditional Judaic studies and innovative activities designed to nurture the love of learning in a thriving modern Orthodox environment. Our Annual Meeting offers an opportunity to ask questions, hear from both Presidents and learn the facts of this exciting endeavor. Please join us! Monday, June 18 at 7:30 Hebrew Academy, 53 Gabb Road We look forward to seeing you! Message from the Ritual Committee Among the responsibilities of the Ritual Committee is to insure that we maintain a proper level of decorum in the shul. While it is exciting to be with family and friends in shul on Shabbat morning, sometimes this excitement spills over into a little too much conversation especially during certain parts of the service including the repetition of the Musaf Amida and from Ein Kelokeynu through the end of the service. Believe it or not, some of the pre-bar mitzvah children don’t want to lead the end of the service because their voices can’t be heard over the murmuring! We ask for your cooperation in keeping the conversations in shul down to a minimum. We also ask the men not to remove their tallesim until the end of Adon Olam so that the service can conclude in a dignified manner with the entire congregation singing together in prayer. Thank you for your cooperation.
