INTRODUCTION Today there is a significant amount of data on modern diatoms of continental water bodies of the Russian Far East. The results of floristic investigations on diatoms in North-East Asia and the American sector of Beringia were summarized by Kharitonov (Kharitonov (Charitonov) 2001, 2005a-c).
