It is a Class-A Grade Three comprehensive children’s hospital for pediatric medical health care, rehabilitation, scientific research and teaching with the authentication of Iso9001/14001 environmental quality system. And it is also the first hospital in Hunan to pass the JCI accreditation.(JCI standards is the recognized medical service standards in the world, and recognized accreditation model by WHO ) It has 1600 professional employees including 199 senior medical professionals, 211 medium medical professionals, 7 post-doctors, 16 medicine doctors and 146 medicine masters. There are 1 person elected as one of the top experts in “Hundred-thousand Talent Project”, 4 persons entitled to the Special Allowance Expert of State Department of China, and 7 persons elected as the First-level Experts of "121 Project of Talent Person of Hunan Province". It has 37 clinical departments, 8 medical technical divisions, 27 special Clinics. Up to now, there are one national key discipline of pediatric critical and intensive care and 4 provincial key specialties including neonatology, pediatric surgery, children's health care center and children's rehabilitation center. Other departments have also formed their own characteristics, such as hematology, neurology, gastroenterology, infections, cardiology, otolaryngology, dermatology, urology, Chinese traditional medicine etc. There are 4 important centers settled in the hospital including Hunan Children’s Emergency Center, Hunan Rehabilitation Center for the Children with Cerebral Paralysis, Hunan Adolescence Medical Center, the Hunan Prevention and Cure Center of Children's Strabismus and Amblyopia. The hospital adheres to the scientific development view, and condenses its motto “exquisiteness, wisdom, capaciousness and About the Organizer faithfulness", and forms a hospital spirit of "Unity and Enterprise, Innovation and Progress, Perfection and Self-surpass". Following to the principle of “Promoting Hospital by Science and Technology”, the hospital has established Hunan Pediatric Research Center and Post-doctoral Research Workstations, and published the "Periodical of Clinical Pediatric Surgery". There are 22 national continued medical education items hold in our hospital every year. As a post-graduate training base for Tongji Medical College in Huazhong University of Science Technology, it has cultivated 5 batches of post-graduates. In 2004 the hospital took the lead in carrying out the ISO9001/14001 management system in the country and firstly passed through the certifications of CQC. The hospital was awarded as "Advanced Collective of National Health Systems" in 2007, and was entitled to "Advanced Unit" by Department of Public Health of Hunan Province for many times. Currently, the hospital is the technological supervisor for more than 33 primary hospitals, and possesses 210 two-way patients-transfer hospitals. Meanwhile, Emergency Medical System (EMS) covers surrounding provinces, such as , Guangxi, Hubei etc. The hospital successfully saved the first and the youngest 2 patients with High Pathogenic Human Avian in China in 2005, rescued the first mini premature with the birth weight of 500g in 2006, and made another miracle of zero mortality on the treatment of Hand Foot and Mouth Disease in 2008, and successfully separated two pair of siamese twins in 2009 and 2011. The emergency medical technology level takes a leading position in China. In 2010, the Academy of Pediatrics of University of South China was established in the hospital, the research project of “Effective Rescue in Children Public Health Affairs” curried out by Pre-President, and Professor Zhu Yimin was honored Song Qingling Pediatric Medicine Awards. In 2012, the hospital received scientific research with initial funding of 25milliion under the State "twelfth five-year" major support project, successfully hold the China-US(Xiaoxiang) Summit of Pediatrics three years since 2012. We have already held 21 professional training courses for medical staff from developing countries, which has trained 516 medical staff. The training quality was admired by all participants from different countries and the Ministry of Commerce. Sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China, Seminar on Prevention & Treatment of Maternal to Child Transmission Disease for Developing Countries in 2015 will be held in Changsha during June 23rd to July 6th, 2015 by Hunan Children’s Hospital. The working language is English and number of participants is 25. The seminar will makes participants get to know the experiences and achievements of Chinese maternal and child transmission disease prevention and treatment, and screening and controlling system of maternal and child disease. The seminar will focus on the topic of “Prevention & Treatment of Maternal to Child Transmission Disease” and mainly

Training Course includes the following arrangement: Control and Prevention of Neonate Syphilis Infection, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment, Intrauterine Infection and CMV Content Infection Treatment, Hepatitis B Prevention and Treatment, Child Health and Immunization, Breastfeeding and Nutrition Management, and etc. During the training period, all the participants will be invited to take a trip to Health Department of Hunan Province, Disease Prevention and Controlling Center of Hunan Province, and some provincial sceneries so as to broaden their knowledge about China and Hunan medical development. This Seminar will promote and publicize Chinese maternal and child transmission disease prevention and treatment technology and achievements, build a platform of maternal and child health communication, and promote the international cooperation.
